Becoming a Forklift Operator

Last Updated: 2011/10/07

There is a large market for forklift operators. Nearly all construction sites, warehouses, and shipping docks need at least one forklift operator. Forklift operators usually need a high school diploma or a GED in order to be hired. People who operate forklifts do not need any sort of license or certificate, but they do need extensive training.

The employer must train a forklift operator. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that a forklift operator pass formal and practical training classes and an evaluation before being allowed to operate a forklift independently without supervision. There is no set format that the training must take and there is no license, but the employer must document that the training is completed before the operator is allowed to work. The forklift training does not have to be taught by a professional trainer, anyone who has already completed the training and is experienced and knowledgeable enough to teach the training can do so.

OSHA regulates that a forklift operator’s training program have three parts. First, the trainee must participate in a formal training. This is a classroom type training that teaches proper forklift operation and safety procedures. This class can involve watching videos about forklift operation and reading instruction manuals. After the trainee completes the formal training, it is time for the practical lessons. This is when the trainee actually operates the forklift under the trainer’s supervision. The final step is the evaluation. The trainer watches the trainee operate the forklift and checks to see that the trainee is operating the machine correctly and is following all safety precautions. After the trainer documents the evaluation the trainee is the able to independently operate the forklift. A forklift operator must be evaluated every three years to ensure that the proper guidelines are still being followed.

A forklift operator can expect to make between $18,000 and $30,000 in a year. Many of the jobs that require forklift are unionized, providing the forklift operators union protection. There is limited advancement opportunity for forklift operators.

Tax foreclosures property investment could be a nightmare investment.

Last Updated: 2011/10/07

The schedules for auctions of the tax foreclosures properties can be obtain by approaching the office of the Clerk of the District of the area in which the mortgager owns the property.

The term “Tax Foreclosures” is a legal procedure or process that is expected to occur if a buyer defaults on a loan or the taxes applicable on the property, which he lends for mortgage. The lender or lending institution takes back the hold of the property because of irresponsibility of the borrower in paying off dues and applicable taxes or loan applied on mortgaged property for whatsoever reasons.

Therefore it is in the best interest of the borrower to pay off all the dues and applicable taxes prior to agreed period of time so as to make sure that no legal action, such as auction of his/her property in public, is taken against him/her. The most notable thing for a borrower is to that he/she must keep all the documents with him/her meeting all the terms and conditions to avoid any Tax Foreclosures in dealing with other parties in future.

Tax foreclosure property procedures are different in every state. Many states follow an easy and simple tax foreclosure, whereby you only have to appeal the county court or maybe through processes of applications to obtain the deed to the property. Mean while, in other states, to go through the tax foreclosure property, you will have to spend most of your time in dealing with an attorney, which will consume lot of your time and waste your money.

In the United States, there are two sorts of property foreclosure in most common law states. Using a “deed in lieu of foreclosure,” the bank claims the title and possession of the property back in full satisfaction of a debt, usually on contract. In the proceeding simply known as foreclosure (or, perhaps, distinguished as “judicial foreclosure”), the property is exposed to auction by the county sheriff or some other officer of the court.

Other states have adopted non-judicial foreclosure procedures, in which the mortgages, or more commonly the mortgage’s attorney or designated agent, gives the debtor a notice of default and the mortgage’s intent to sell the immovable property in a form prescribed by state statute. This type of property foreclosure is commonly referred to as “statutory” or “non-judicial” foreclosure.

The schedules for auctions of the tax foreclosures properties can be obtain by approaching the office of the Clerk of the District of the area in which the mortgager owns the property. However information on such listings can also be obtained from the courthouse.

Truck Accessories

Last Updated: 2011/10/07

The performance parts industry uses the words “parts” and “accessories” interchangeably. Several truck parts and accessories serve similar functions, making it sometimes becomes difficult to differentiate between the two.

Both terms encompass numerous products. Many of these products have overlapping functions and can be categorized both as parts and as accessories. But, in dealing with the performance-parts industry, the functions overlap only in particular instances. Despite this overlap, opinions always vary about the factors that can determine classification. Truck parts and industries each have a list of products, most of which intersect somewhere in the middle. This depends on what their intended use is, and if they are categorized as aftermarket product or OEM.

According to a truck parts advisor, a truck part may have a generic definition, including repair, maintenance, restoration, interior, and exterior enhancement. The products can include air filters, spoilers, oil filters, shocks, or headlamps, which are, in effect, part of the truck. If it is a part of the truck that is original, or a replacement or repair product, it is a part. However, an aftermarket part that is used in order to enhance the vehicle after the original purchase falls into the category of accessories.

But the advisor may say that the word part means the same as the word accessory when you refer to a product in general. However, the specific make and use of it determines what category it will belong to. Accessories could include sun shields, car covers, make-specific paraphernalia, and products that mainly serve to enhance a car or truck. But something like a sport-utility rack could be classified as either a part or an accessory, as could brake pads or rotors, air filters, or oil filters.

Aftermarket products like air filters, floor mats for trucks and high-quality seat covers are generally classified as truck accessories, unless they are the original OEM part. The difference varies from person to person, even among truck enthusiasts and professionals.

Press Printing and Digital Printing Comparison

Last Updated: 2011/10/06

When deciding to what you need in printing, there is one question you need to take note of. Here is a comparison aspect of a digital printing versus press printing. There are striking differences which you can consider;

• Press printing
- First and foremost, they are a little expensive. Films are needed to be produced as well as places. The overhead cost is simply higher compared to its digital counterpart. There is also the effect of overruns; they can be billable because they cannot be limited to a specific number of copies. Generally, the cost of press printing is twice compared to digital printing

- The color accuracy department is excellent on this method of printing. There is a mixing system called pantone matching system, they have their own color matching guides. There is usually more information on their accuracy within the web. This is much like paint mixing where you need to be accurate on colors. With press printing, they are the best choice on color accurateness.

- There can be a wider range of colors with press printing. They can offer brighter colors using pantone. They can be vivid, resulting in a high quality image reproduction.

- Inexpensive proofing with press printing is another benefit. But this can always depend on proof runs used and the type of press where it will be printed.

- The pantone system can have its limitations, but they can be available on books to where you can compare the samples. This can require inkjet prints to view positions of the elements on a pages.

- Another drawback is it takes longer to be printed. The direct press uses numerous steps for it to finish printing. There are films and plates to be made and other setup tasks. Also you need time for drying, cutting, folding and other finishing touches must be made.

- Better choices on paper stocks. From rainbow colors to pitch black, you can use the on press printing.

- Brighter colors and wider finishing techniques are a few of press printings’ advantage. Under close ocular inspection shows smooth and seamless colors. You can use metallic inks and other embossing options.

- Unique formats can be made possible with press printing. They can accommodate small to large paper sizes and more finishing techniques.

• Digital prints

- Digital printing is inexpensive. Digital printing use the process of direct to paper process, this can cut the costs into almost half compared to press printing.

- Color accuracy is imperfect. They use a four color print method. From the four colors; cyan, magenta, yellow, and black… they are just minute dots printed together to create different colors.

- Loss of color range can be evident on digital printing. Often they skimp on these following attributes such as brightness, saturation, and range. They produce bright reds, and other color indifferences compared to press printing.

- The cost of proofing is simply higher on digital printing. They are a ways to produce the most accurate colors of this printing method.

- They are a faster option. Quick turnaround times are the best benefit of digital printing. With even printers could guarantee a same day turnaround service, they seem to be the standards of credible online printing sites to date.

- Lack of flexibility on paper usage, digital prints can only make use of limited paper thickness, mostly using only smooth white paper stock. They can be delimited to thick paper such as business cards.

- Limited Finishing options, metallic inks, embossed prints, foil stamping are usually not available on digital commercial prints. Even die cutting and folding services are also being unavailable.

– Lack of choice on material formats, they only have a limited range of specifications. Styles, formats, and sizes are all limited using this technology. The only largest size can only be up to 11“by 17”.

Here is an unbiased comparison of printing methods. Feel free to choose the best option for your printing project. You can get the best deals if you know what you really want and evaluate these methods of printing.

How to Get Your Staff to Bend Over Backwards for You No Matter What

Last Updated: 2011/10/06

The constant struggle to get people to want to work for you is an enigma most business owners wrestle with. I have isolated successful methods through growing my multi-million dollar company from the ground up. In my experience it all comes down to how you want to be treated. I was raised in a lovey-dovey family where my parents wanted me to feel great about myself. Maybe it is because I was raised Jewish and all Jewish mothers think their children are superior – who knows… Whatever the reason, I grew up hearing and believing I could do anything.

That kind of confidence instilled in me led me to believe that I could instill that confidence in others. When I first started out I could not afford to hire expensive help and found the most successful type of personnel for my business were young, inexperienced adults in their late teens that had an abundance of willingness. And I do mean an abundance of it – in my viewpoint, there is no better commodity.

A Little Bit Goes a Long Way

My Senior Vice President over Operations and Quality Control who now manages six other executives and a colossal number of employees was only 19 years old when she started with me. Now she is 27. She had that willingness, but virtually no experience. I recall then that she wanted $10.00 per hour. I would only give her $9.00 but I gave her an incentive – to prove to me she was worth it before I consented to that kind of pay (which was a lot of money to me at the time). She did so well that I gave her $11.50 per hour within two weeks of her hire date.

That little bit extra that I did went a long way. She took notice and she consistently proved to me that she could do even more. That was the first time I noticed that rewarding your employees for hard work really paid off. Today, she makes a six-figure income and earns every penny.

I love to validate and reward the staff – it is a driving force of mine in my company. We have an “employee of the month” that gets company recognition and a designated parking space as well as an “employee of the year” that gets a three-day trip to the Big Apple, plus spending money. Not to mention the runner up gets no short shrift. And my employees work their tails off for those coveted prizes, but mainly for the pride they feel after doing so well. The stipulations are that they go above and beyond the call of duty and really set great examples for the rest of the group. I’ve never seen such stellar work from staff at other companies that don’t acknowledge and don’t reward – I know because I used to work at them.

More Freedom = More Responsibility

A major factor in increasing the responsibility level of the employees is giving them more freedom and responsibility. If you do, they will own their position. The best employees are those that really take ownership of their position and run it like it was their very own company. You may think that it is a bit precarious to let someone run their area like it was their own company because what if they took it way off course from what you had designed where that organization would go? Well, I found that the more freedom I gave my executives to do the job the way they thought it should be done based on their understanding of the company’s goals, they became even better at what they did. That really opened my eyes. It was like the circle of life – they would do better and better to warrant the responsibility I had given them.

Many Ways a Home Business Can Make One’s Life Easier

Last Updated: 2011/10/06

There are many opportunities for someone to work from home. One can do the popular thing and start an online business. “It’s so easy!” the advertisements say. “All you need is a home computer and an internet connection.” Starting an online business usually requires purchasing a dot com address, or you can start out on a web page offered through another site, normally for free.

Home businesses come in many different shapes, sizes and forms. These types of businesses provide individuals with an alternative to the office job setting and provide various freedoms to the business owners as well. In fact, there are five often-cited ways in which a home business can make one’s life easier overall.

Child Care Issues

Perhaps one of the most often cited features of a home business which can make one’s life easier is that by owning a home business, individuals are able to work while staying at home with their children. This makes the need for daily child care a nonexistent factor. Although some individuals who work from home still opt for putting their kids in daycare, having a home business does make doing without child care a possibility.

Transportation Issues

Another way which home businesses can make a business owner’s life that much easier relates to transportation issues. When owning a home business, one can conduct their daily business affairs from the convenience of their home office. This gets rid of the need for commuting to an office each day and putting mileage on the car, not to mention paying costly gas bills. It is also a time saver with regard to not having to commute to and from work which is also a highly regarded trait of owning a home business.

Tax Deductions

One who has a home business is also able to reap the benefits of multiple tax deductions and incentives which may be available to them. Using a home office enables a business owner to save money in the long run by seeing deductions on their annual tax returns. Although this only happens once a year, the rewards are often quite good for home business owners who operate their business out of their home office.

Being Your Own Boss

An additional incentive for home business owners is that they are their own boss. This is a wonderful thing to consider. No more bossy employers enforcing strict, unyielding schedules. Being your own boss is a sure way to make one’s life easier. One can work when they want to, take a break if they like and pursue their occupation in the manner which they see fit.

Reduce Overhead This Way

Lastly, an individual who runs a business out of their home will often find that their life is made easier by saving themselves money in the end. As opposed to those individuals who own businesses which are run out of separate offices, home business owners will see large reductions in overhead. Making use of the home as a workspace is a great way to make life easier on the individual and their wallet.

Lymphoma is a very difficult disease, especially because the main cause of this medical condition is not known. Things get even more complicated when it comes to non- Hodgkin’ s lymphoma. Besides the fact that the real cause of the disease is not known, the risk factors that exist are responsible only for a very small part of all the non- Hodgkin’ s lymphoma cases. Furthermore, studies have shown that some people that are actually exposed to one or more of the risk factors of this type of lymphoma do not actually develop the disease.

So, as you can see, there are some risk factors when it comes to non Hodgkin’ s lymphoma, but they are not always responsible for this disease. What a lymphoma patient must understand that he/ she has no fault whatsoever in the development of non Hodgkin’ s lymphoma. The main factors of risk in this lymphoma case are:
1. infection is probably the most important risk factor when it comes to non Hodgkin’ s disease; there are three most important viral infections that are linked to this type of cancer:

- HIV/ AIDS virus, this virus is one of the most highly linked viruses to non Hodgkin’ s lymphoma; studies have shown that people that are infected with the HIV virus or suffer form AIDS are more likely to develop this form of cancer;
- HTLV- 1 virus- the relation of this virus with the development of non Hodgkin’ s lymphoma is not a very close one; although this virus does actually increase the risk of developing this form of lymphoma, case of cancer that actually develop because of this virus are very rare;

Meteorites

Last Updated: 2011/10/06

Most people are familiar with the term “shooting star,” but few know its importance. Actually, it is not a star shooting across the sky, but a small piece of solid matter called a meteoroid colliding with the atmosphere. As the meteoroid enters the Earth’s atmosphere, the friction created by its incoming velocity causes its surface to heat up and the brilliant flash of light records the passage of a meteor. Should the object survive this fiery plunge through the atmosphere and hit the ground, it then becomes a meteorite. On very rare occasions when an extremely bright meteor is observed, it is referred to as a fireball. It is from these fireballs that most meteorites of recoverable size originate. The arrival of a meteorite is a very unpredictable event. Meteor showers are regular annual occurrences but have never produced a recorded meteorite fall. When a large fireball is observed, recovery of specimens is almost solely dependent upon the accounts of chance observers who just happened to see the event. Even rarer is the observed impact of a meteorite on someone’s roof or in a backyard. Meteorites recovered in this manner are termed falls, indicating that the specimen was observed while falling. The majority of meteorites are recorded as finds, those specimens that were not observed to fall. Finds are generally reported by people who happen to pick up a strange looking rock and later have it identified as an actual meteorite.

Meteors and meteorite fall are often spellbinding, producing spectacular visual and audible effects when they occur. Meteorites, even when they are not seen to fall, are tantalizing specimens because they represent extraterrestrial material, which traveled hundreds of millions of billions of kilometers, over a period of 4.5 billion years, in orbit around the sun before colliding with the Earth. Because the stones are fragments of other planetary bodies (mostly asteroids,) some more primitive than the Earth, they have helped guide our search for the origin and evolution of our solar system.

Although today we understand that meteors and meteorite falls are natural consequences of solar system processes, in the past they were poorly understood phenomena, having been attributed to divine intervention by some authorities and denied by others who suspected the descriptions of falling stones were caused by mass hysteria. Because of the mystery in which meteorites were shrouded, many exaggerated stories were developed and recorded. For example, one of the earliest reports states that while the people in the city of Moons, Belgium were recovering from a war in 1186, “God chastised them again by a hail of stones which fell June 30th, whose size surpassed that of an egg and weighed more than one pound, this furious storm pushed by the wind, damaged all of the harvest, blasted the buildings (as with lightning), crushed the animals, uprooted the trees and killed a quantity of men.” This report is generally considered to be a doubtful description of a meteorite shower by modern authorities, but it nonetheless illustrates the legendary nature of meteorite falls. In other (substantiated) cases, meteorites were considered religious objects and have been preserved in churches, monasteries, temples, shrines, and burial chambers on most continents, including North America.
