Is Kimmer’s New Diet Plan Really ‘Turning Fatties Into Hotties’?

If you are the least bit familiar with healthy low carb eating you must have heard of a lady by the name of Kimmer by now.

Kimmer has, as her supportive followers would say, “cleverly developed a new form of low carb eating unlike any other.” This new low carb plan has caused not only her own weight loss, but the weight loss of countless others she has personally coached to literally skyrocket with fat melting off their bodies at amazing speed! A plan that has been deemed “KIMKINS.”

Floods of overweight people that claim they are sick and tired of the empty promises other weight loss plans dish out.. as well as those that had enough of waiting weeks, even months to shed just 1 pant size are flocking to Kimmer in hopes of finding out her secret on how they can “double their weight loss speed,” in some cases even “triple it”! After all, she has proven her own plan successful (or is it) by shedding an incredible 198 pounds in less than 1 year! She has also managed to maintain that weight loss now for over 5 years, making her the role model that so many overweight Americans, (as well as others around the world) now look up to!

What makes this particular low carb weight loss plan different? It appears the secret has a lot to do with there being less fat than Atkins, fewer carbs than South Beach, and of course the lightening speed of weight loss.. something Weight Watchers does not promise.

Kimmer has different phases to her weight loss plan. The first known as “K/E” which means “The Kimmer Experiment.” This is a very specific eating plan that lasts about 3-5 days with the purpose of achieving real ketosis. K/E has a carb count of nearly “0.” The “experiment”, basically, is to use this way of eating to determine whether or not you were over on carbs in your prior diet. If you drop a large amount of weight within a short period of time, that supposedly means you were over on carbs and should adjust your eating accordingly. Kimmer does not allow for net carb counting either, unlike the popular Atkins diet. She claims that being over on carbs is one of the biggest reason so many people fail on other popular low carb diet plans.

Once in ketosis she would then suggest you switch into what is called “Kimkins” way of eating for the remainder of your weight loss. The one main difference between the two plans is K/E does not allow any form of veggies to be eaten like Kimkins does. Basically, it is only lean meats and eggs and enough oil/fat to make your menu work. Because of this, as you can imagine.. the fat count is very low right along with the carbs.

She also has a suggested maintenance plan available that you can follow once goal is achieved. It appears this plan includes certain amounts and types of dairy, fruit and grains as well as an increased number of vegetables allowed.

I think it’s important to say there is still much debate on whether or not this plan is the best approach for achieving total health. Those that support low fat/high carb eating continue to voice their fears and concerns about Kimkins low carb/low fat eating plan. Many claim it is dangerous to limited fats and carbs to such low levels as well as the number of calories being so low as a result of it. They also fear the speed of weight loss is not a healthy benefit.

However, Kimmer continues to stand her ground claiming her plan is not only effective but 100% SAFE. It’s hard to tell who’s telling the truth.

Today, with over 2,000 members already enrolled in her new online “secret club”, with a rumored number of celebrities jumping on board and over 68 personal testimonies featured at the bottom of her front page alone, all I know is there are a bunch of happy people over there at Kimkins celebrating their dramatic “accelerated” weight loss success. Some even claiming they are transforming themselves from “Fatties to Hotties!” with the before and after pics to prove it.

Hard to believe you might say? Too good to be true? I guess that’ll be for you to decide.

The 7 Things That Personal Trainers Do To Tick Clients Off

Over the years we have had our share of both excellent and suspect Personal Trainers. From these experiences come the 7 things that they do to tick clients off.

1. Fail to keep appointments: perhaps this should be saved for number 7 as it is the most unbelievable; you know save the best for last. This is the case of the trainer that calls on the day of the appointment, sometimes within hours, and wants to let you know they will be unable to train because they got tied up. Still worse is the trainer that runs perpetually late. Picture yourself at the gym, warming up, and looking out for your trainer. At the appointed hour they are no where in sight so you begin to lightly workout. 10 minutes into the scheduled hour they come strolling in asking to be forgiven for running late. O.k., things happen. The question is do things happen 2 weeks out of 4. My advice? Get a new trainer.

2. Neglect to keep charts on their clients. How in the world is a trainer supposed to keep a mental note of all the particulars surrounding a clients health, contact information, goals, workout weights, injury areas, to name a few. Boggles my mind how many trainers simply write nothing down. They truly must have amazing memories.

3. Eating while training a client. Hey, I get hungry too and I also work a long day. It would be unimaginable for me to eat in front of a client unless we went out for a meal. Frankly it does not matter if it is a power bar, a peanut butter sandwich or a bag of trail mix. I pay you to work me out, eat on your own time.

4. Talking to other trainers, or familiar clients, while working me out. Here’s a novel thought: my health and safety for that one hour is in your hands, your complete attention is required. It does not matter to me if your best friend from grade school that you have not seen in 10 years just walked in. Your attention is on your client for one hour.

5. Children do not belong in the gym. Not the client’s kids or the trainer’s. Last thing I want is to hear or see is kids when I am trying to concentrate on touching a cone while balancing on half a foam roller with a 20 pound jacket on my body. Don’t get me wrong, I like children. I don’t like children at the gym.

6. Talking on cell phones, or texting, while working out a client. This one might have been a contender for the number one position. As if the invasion of cell phones in not pervasive enough it has now entered the gym. Picture this: client is doing a deep lunge exercise down a lane at the gym. Following behind offering no words of encouragement, but “spotting” her is trainer on cell phone. Unbelievable. Unbelievable that the trainer is on the phone and equally nuts that the client does not care. Important caveat: clients are guilty too. Recently I witnessed a client doing step ups on to a platform while speaking on the phone. It was her husband who “always calls me when we hear this song”. Could you just wretch?

7. Lack of creativity in workouts. Worse is the trainer who you know is making up the routine as we go along. Getting to the gym takes a certain amount of motivation for most clients. Help us out and add some variety to the exercise routine.

The last item is for the gym owners in the reading audience: stop being cheap and make sure the carpets are cleaned, the equipment is updated and in good working condition, the amenities in the locker room are clean and control your employees or contractors. At $50 to $75 per hourly session these are reasonable requests.

If you are shopping for a personal trainer, use this list to size up the trainer and the facility you are contemplating using. Know too that there a many, many simply excellent, diligent, qualified trainers that fit none of the faults mentioned above. In fact this article is a result of observations made while either warming up for, or working out with, my trainer who cannot be faulted for any of the issues sited.

Do you have problem areas? Would you like to lose a few pounds? Most people would answer yes to this question. But who really has the time? Most people today do not have the time to go to the gym. You could also check at a department store. In the sporting goods section, you should be able to find a quality home gym. If you look online for a home gym, you should be able to find a new or used home gym.

Used home gyms should be researched before purchasing. It is best to purchase a used home gym with a warranty. This way, you can try it out in your home and make sure that it works before you are locked into buying it.

A great form of exercise is walking on a treadmill. Walking has always been good for your heart. The problem with walking though, is that you can’t do it in the rain, it’s not fun when it’s cold, and these days it can even be dangerous. This is where a treadmill comes in. A treadmill allows a person to walk for hours and stay in one place.

The older, cheaper treadmills, are manual. They are not even electric. Once you get walking the mechanism turns on it’s own. This old cheaper version does not have any of the electronic extras like the newer ones. The only extra that you will find on the old, manual treadmill is a built in water bottle.

The newer, more expensive treadmills have more features. The more expensive models are electric. They have different settings, so the faster you choose to go, the higher you can turn it up. Walking is no longer the only function of a treadmill. The newer models also have an optional incline feature. If you are looking for a more intense workout, this is the right treadmill for you.

Where can you purchase a treadmill? There are several different places. The best place to find one is online. If you shop for treadmills online, such as Ebay, you can shop at different places from the comfort of your own home. You have a larger selection if you shop online. The one bad thing about shopping online is that you will have to pay shipping costs.

Shopping at a sporting goods store will help you to find a quality treadmill. These are quality treadmills, although, the selection is not very large. You may only have two or three treadmills to choose from. Another place to find treadmills is department stores. Department stores are also stores with not much of a selection. At stores like Sears or Walmart, you may have only a choice between three or four at the most.

You can even find used treadmills in different places. One thing that you want to remember is, if you are buying a used treadmill, make sure it has some kind of warranty. You want to be able to try it out at home before it is too late to return it.

Free Weight Training Routine To Get A Sculpted Body

Try this weight training routine and get as sculpted as possible and as soon as possible. To push your body to the next level, you have to change your weight training program and avoid getting stuck in the rut. Many people actually are in a plateau phase which they did not know of and in the end of the day, they would not get the sculpted body that they wanted because their muscles are just not responding to their weight training plan anymore.

For muscles to respond and get optimum results, they need to be exercised extra hard and kept on guessing. There for, for change, it is recommended that high intensity technique is applied once a while to give the muscle a shock.

One of the best ways to shock the muscle is by using this weight training routine, which uses a technique, called superset. Superset is a method where by 2 exercises for 2 opposing body part is done back to back without rest. Two exercises for one body part done back to back can also be used as a superset.

The purpose of using this technique is to actually keep the intensity high and to keep the heart rate high as well. For example, if we use a chest and back superset exercise, the back muscle is at rest while the chest muscle is worked. When its time to work the back muscle, the chest muscle is at rest and have time to recover and by the time the chest muscle is worked again, it would already recovered.

For superset with the same muscle group, the purpose is to really exhaust the muscle group and kick the stubborn muscle so that it will grow! A good example is to do a bench press followed by a chest dumbbell flyes. Chest dumbbell flyes is an isolation exercise and it will really compliment the bench press, which is a compound exercise. Again, this will keep your heart rate high in the fat burning mode and shock the muscle.

You’re Looking for a Free Hoodia Sample But Does Free Hoodia Exist?

If you’ve been shopping around for hoodia diet pills lately to help you with your weight loss efforts, you’ve probably noticed those free hoodia sample offers. Before you accept any of them, you’ll want to read this article carefully. As the old saying goes, nothing in life is free – and hoodia is no exception!

What most consumers don’t realize is that none of those free hoodia trial offers are free at all. They all charge a fee of some kind usually under $10 and it’s usually for shipping and handling. In return you get one bottle of hoodia or a small supply of hoodia patches. You may be thinking that even if you have to pay $10 for a hoodia product, you’re still getting a good deal. When you sign up to accept these free hoodia offers, they require a credit card to pay for the nominal shipping and handling fee. You usually have around 15 days to try the hoodia product they send you. If you don’t cancel within 15 days, then you are automatically enrolled in a monthly auto ship program. Every month after that initial free hoodia trial, you will be sent a month’s supply and your credit card will be charged the actual price of the product. I’ve seen the charges as low as $50 and as high as $80. That doesn’t sound like free hoodia to me!

If that’s not bad enough, most of these hoodia products that are being offered for free don’t contain authentic hoodia gordonii! I have not been able to find one free hoodia offer that can provide proof that the product contains authentic hoodia gordonii. Even if some of them do, they contain so little of it that it would make no difference in your appetite.

There are two things you want to look for as you consider these free hoodia samples. You want to look for a CITES certificate clearly displayed on the website and independent lab test results. The CITES certificate is required by all companies that export hoodia gordonii from South Africa, where the plant is grown. If a company doesn’t have a CITES certificate, then they can’t legally export and sell authentic hoodia gordonii.

Independent lab tests provide scientific proof that the material used in the product contains authentic hoodia gordonii. Companies that sell real hoodia gordonii diet pills have these tests done on a regular basis and proudly display the results on their websites. The funny thing is, you will be hard pressed to find any of these tests on these free hoodia trial offers!

The other important point is that free hoodia doesn’t even make smart business sense because of the price of the raw material itself. Hoodia gordonii is scarce right now because there is more demand than there is supply. As a result, it is very expensive. Supplement companies couldn’t possibly afford to give away authentic hoodia gordonii for free or they’d go out of business very fast. The cheapest you’ll find a bottle of authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills is around $32, with the average price hovering around $50 per bottle. There is no such thing as free authentic hoodia that I have been able to find.

The next time you see a free hoodia sample offer, do yourself a favor and keep on shopping! These offers are not only free, but the quality of the product you are getting will not help you achieve your weight loss goals.

7 Weight Loss Motivation Tips

When you are dieting, having weight loss motivation can be a struggle for anyone. The continual cycle of gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight and losing weight can become very tiresome and demotivating.

Tip 1 – Know what you want

Make sure you know precisely how much weight you are going to get rid of. Some weight just doesn’t cut it, so have a precise figure for your target weight and how much you are losing.

Tip 2 – Avoid the scales

Avoid weighing yourself every single day, it’ll just dent your weight loss motivation and frustrate you. Instead, pick one day a week to weigh yourself and weigh yourself every week at the same time (I usually recommend Monday’s as you may be at your heaviest after any weekend excesses!).

Tip 3 – Watch the inches, not the pounds

Often weight loss isn’t immediately noticeable through weight, but is more obvious through inches lost. So, measure your chest, waist, hips and thighs and record the results so you can track them over time.

Tip 4 – Track your results

Motivation comes from seeing regular results, so track your weight loss successes and your measurements shrinking. This will ensure you are more motivated to lose weight.

Tip 5 – Eat regularly, avoid starving yourself

The majority of dieters think that they can skip meals to lose weight faster. STOP IT! It doesn’t work like that. If you skip meals then your body is going to think there’s a famine on the way, which means your body starts to piles on the fat to ensure you survive the famine. Eat regular healthy meals and you’ll find your diet much easier.

Losing Abdominal Fat The Easy Way

The single most important fact that you should know about losing abdominal fat is that there is no magical formula that can make your abdominal fat vanish in a jiffy. Losing abdominal fat permanently requires patience and commitment to some basic tips. But do notlose heart. It is a feat anyone can accomplish the easy way if one understands the reasons why abdominal fat develops and why it seems so frustratingly resistant to all those exercise or diet plans you have tried out but given up too soon to see results.

The first thing you must understand is that there is no physical exercise that can reduce fat from a specific part of the body. When you burn fat for energy, as during an aerobic activity, fat loss will occur systemically, i.e., from all over the body. But since fat distribution naturally varies from person to person, depending on inherited genetic factors, some people will tend to lose abdominal fat faster while others may lose fat at say hips or thighs faster. So do not compare your abdominal fat loss graph with others.

Another thing, doing countless sit-ups and leg-raises or slogging out day in and day out on the latest abs equipment without paying heed to your diet and an aerobic activity is not going to make your abdominal fat go away. What these exercises do is to shape up and tone your abdominal muscles, but do nothing to metabolize away the layers of fat covering them. That is why the shaped and toned muscles remain elusive to the eye.

There is one and only one way of losing abdominal fat the easy way, and that is with the combination of a balanced and nutritive diet, aerobic activity, and strengthening exercises for abdominal and other muscles. The best kind of workout to burn the layers of abdominal fat along with overall fat comprises a cardiovascular or aerobic exercise like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, dancing, swimming or stair climbing, combined with abdominal exercises like crunches and hip lifts, and also weight training for other muscle groups. Weight training increases your lean muscle mass and hence your metabolic rate, implying that you burn more fat even while resting.

Glycogen (stored carbohydrates) is the primary fuel source during the first 10 minutes of an aerobic exercise. Substantial fat burning starts only after stored glycogen is depleted. Hence, the key to fat loss is working out at moderate intensity continuously for about 45 to 60 minutes. However, this comprises only 50% of the abdominal fat loss plan. The remaining 50% contribution comes from diet control. Abdominal exercises will help strengthen the muscles and give definition to the reducing midsection.

However, if your calorie intake is higher than your calorie expenditure, you are bound to put on abdominal fat as well as general body fat regardless of how diligently you work out and how many abdominal crunches you do a day- it is simple mathematics in action. Ideally, spread your calorie intake into five small meals a day instead of 2 or 3 big ones. Include a variety of foods that are rich in fiber and low in fat and sugar, with about 55% of the calories coming from carbohydrates, 30% from protein, and 15% from fat. Avoid carbohydrates late in the evening.

Remember, when it comes to losing abdominal fat, you have to adopt a holistic, whole-body approach as there are absolutely no shortcuts. A surgical shortcut like liposuction also becomes meaningless if you are not going to control to your diet, because removing fat cells from the abdomen by liposuction will lead to excess fat storage elsewhere and perhaps under the chin or on knees or shoulders- where it may look even worse than at the abdomen.

Lastly, here is a fact that is not exactly what you would want to hear: even if you are on a holistic exercise-cum-diet fat loss plan, abdominal fat is most likely going to be the last fat to leave your body.

9 Steps to Unique Articles

1 Remove your limits

Reduce your subject to a single core word and then brainstorm around it. For example, if you’re trying to write about “Study Skills”, expand your thinking to “School”. Now jot down everything that comes to mind when you think about School, and when you run out of ideas start asking yourself open questions around the subject and noting your answers.

Examples:

What did I enjoy about school?

What scared me?

What did I wish I’d known from Day 1?

This will help you get back into the mindset of someone struggling with school issues of all kinds and you’ll start to get a feel for their concerns and worries.

2 Restore your focus

Once you’ve started to understand the general feelings of your readers, allow your mind to focus back on your original topic of Study Skills. From your new perspective, what questions would you ask? What would you want to know? Is this really a “Studying” issue or is it more about Time Management or being able to work without distractions or being paralyzed by the fear of not doing well?

3 Be your audience

Write each question on a separate sheet of paper don’t stop until you have at least ten and preferably more. Stay in the mindset of your readers until you feel you’ve asked every major question that concerns them.

4 Take a step back

Put your pile of question aside for a few hours, overnight if possible. Don’t consciously think about them just go about your day as usual. Give your subconscious time to process them without any further prompting from you. If new questions come to mind jot them down somewhere safe and then forget about them.

5 Get out your pen and write

When you’re ready, sit down with your pages of questions and simply start to answer them. Writing your answers by hand can give you access to ideas that might be missed if you type them. Don’t edit yourself at this stage. Using Speech to Text software or a digital recorder can also be helpful in bypassing the internal editor.

Imagine someone sitting in front of you asking for advice and just talk to them. Keep your tone natural and conversational and stay with the question-and-answer format.

6 Edit lightly

Trust your first instincts. Proof-read and correct any obvious errors, but don’t do any major editing until your piece has had time to “sit” for a while. Again, leaving it overnight will give you a fresh perspective the next time you look at it, but even if your deadline doesn’t allow for that it’s important to give yourself a break from it.

When you’re pushed for time, writing several articles at one sitting can create enough change of focus to make you “forget” the one you’ve just written.

7 Polish it up

Short articles are unlikely to need major editing if you’ve written them as described here. They will flow easily and naturally already and having each Q & A on a separate sheet makes it easier to select only the ones you want. Cardio Kickboxing techniques are all the rage in the fitness world today. There is a reason for this. Cardio Kickboxing gives you a great workout and is fun as well. Cardio Kickboxing is also called Aerobic Boxing, Boxercise, Boxaerobics and Aerobox. I went for Cardio Kickboxing after six months of aerobics. I can vouch for its benefits. These benefits include increased strength and flexibility while burning fat.

I know that some years back cardio kickboxing barely existed. Today it has invaded health clubs. More and more people want to benefit from this latest fitness fad. I have practiced this new form of exercise for barely over a month and the benefits already show in my body and in my self-esteem. If you are reasonably fit and willing to give it a try, Cardio Kickboxing could be your road to a healthier, fitter life.

Let me share what I have learned about cardio kickboxing with you. One basic move is the base move (shifting weight from the ball of one foot to the other). This is good for balance. Another is the bob and weave. The combination move involves a series of quick punches thrown in combination. The front kick involves lifting your foot straight out in front of you with toes up. In the roundhouse kick, the legs are swung around until the shoelaces hit the side of the target in front.

Lets examine some more moves. The side kick is one in which the foot is lifted up in front of you and then kicked out at the side. If you like to punch, the hook, the jab and the uppercut are for you. My personal favorite is the jab, which involves a quick forward movement of the fist.

As a beginner, I was told to keep a few things in mind. In my first class I was taught not to exercise myself beyond fatigue. Do not lock joints or hold dumbbells when punching, My instructor told me. Overextending kicks is always a bad idea, I was told.

I realized early on that Cardio Kickboxing is no substitute for a martial arts class. It is meant to be a form or exercise. The advantage is that it is not as violent as a martial arts class and is good exercise. People with medical problems like joint/knee issues should practice kickboxing with caution.

In performing cardio kickboxing techniques I advise looking for a simple programme. Start by working out once a week. Alternate between high intensity and low intensity workouts. Warm up and cool down with the main session of exercise. Complement cardio kickboxing with other forms of exercise.
