Keeping The Faith
Two weeks ago my daughter, Christy, and I were having a conversation. She stated that most girls have the kind of mom who share a spa day with them, who invite them to go get their nails done together or try out a new hairstyle.
We both laughed at her words, because I was opposite from this kind of mom. In fact, my daughter ended the conversation with the statement, “Instead I get a mom who wants to save the world. And on top of it you dragged me into doing it too!”
I don’t know what I would do without my daughter, I trust her completely. She edited my book. She edits every article I write and of course made some of the article writing hers. Three of the titles were her ideas and she also is building my website
Christy has three children. Samuel is always reminding me that he is going to be four very soon. Paige just turned 2 and Sofia is 6 months. All are very energetic and Christy must give up sleep in order to work for me.
Her faith in God is great and she endeavors to teach her children the same principles. She is all about living a Christian life and being a faithful and loving wife to her husband and a loving and good mom to her children. I tell her all the time that she comes from a long line of great Christian mothers.
You would never believe that Christy had ever experienced anything but good in her lifetime. Most people believe that you can’t be so grounded and be such a good person if something bad has ever happened to you. You just had to have lived a charmed life!
The common phrase we always hear is ‘bad things always happen to bad people’. Yet what people think is truth is often a lie. The real truth is that bad things happen to good people because our world is under the rule of Satan.
John 5:19, “We know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the Evil One.”
When Christy was five and attending kindergarten the worse possible thing happened in her life. Her parents divorced and she and her brothers became the ponds in a huge custody battle.
I suppose this custody fight wouldn’t have been so traumatic if it weren’t for the fact that our family was so religious. Her dad was an ordained deacon and his father was a Baptist minister. My own sister and her husband were in full time ministry and I our family came from a long line of ministers and missionaries.
Everything Christy was ever taught was about obeying God and serving in church. You see in 1986 divorce was a very big sin! Yet there is a sin that is bigger than divorce and that is the sin of being gay! I would go as far as to say that for the church it is even bigger than murder!
Churches preach that homosexuality is wrong! Using Sodom and Gomorrah as a story illustrating God’s hatred of gays. But they quietly leave out scripture that leaves out the real reason for the destruction of these cities.
2 Peter 2:6, “God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, destroying them with fire, and made them an example of what will happen to the godless.”
The scripture specifically states that it was not about sexual sin, but about godlessness. Never the less churches, families, and society throw out their gay family members because the churches skip these scriptures.
Because Theologians and religious historians refuse to set the record straight, homosexuals are deprived of their children and denied justice in the courts. They are humiliated, persecuted, killed and despised all in the name of God.
Ezekiel 16:48-50, “As surely as I am the living God, the Sovereign Lord says, ‘your sister Sodom and her villages never did the evil that you and your villages have done. She and her daughters were proud because they had plenty to eat and lived in peace and quiet, but they did not take care of the poor and the underprivileged. They were proud stubborn and did the things that I hate, so I destroyed them, as you well know.’”
They say, love the sinner but hate the sin. But Christy can tell you that this is not true! You can not love what you hate. It is like telling Satan that he has to love God and we all know how impossible that would be!
Because people have been misled by the church, everything I did as a good Christian mother was counteracted by me falling in love with a woman. It didn’t matter how much I loved my children or how diligent I was in teaching them about God and doing service in my church.
Because of false teachings, a huge tug-of-war began not just between husband and wife, but with husband, church, family, friends and society all against me. A battle that was so tipped in favor of her dad that Christy struggled to love me regardless of what they said about me.
In fact, Christy and her brothers became so entangled in the fight for who had the right to be custodial parent that you would have thought that they would have never had anything to do with God ever! Because God was the reason they were not to love their mother.
They were told they couldn’t love me because I was living a life of sin. They were confused by strangers who told them how unlucky they were to have a mom who had fallen from God’s grace and chose to live an ungodly lifestyle. From church to school to the small town they lived in, they were constantly the center of unwanted attention because of their Satan possessed mother.
Christy didn’t want this kind of attention! She just wanted her mom. She didn’t care what the church had to say, she just wanted to live with her mom. She didn’t understand why everyone was in such an uproar, because she saw me as the same mom who loved her and had taken care of her since birth.
So you can see that her childhood was not peaceful. She was taken away from her mom and given to her dad. I was given no visitation and as a result I fled with my children and was arrested and put in jail while Christy endured being put in the hands of the SRS.
Christy saw her mother attacked by her father, while the pastor and a deacon watched. She saw her mother being stalked by church members in the name of God. She saw her grandparents turn their back on her mother and wish her dead.
She was forced into counseling as a small child. She was forced to go before a judge and tell him who she wanted to live with. Even after she stated she wanted to live with her mom, the judge ignored her words.
Time and again she was involved in one court proceeding after another while her testimony to live with her mother was disregarded. Whenever visitation resumed with her mother she was interrogated by her father, councilors, and family.
It is amazing today from the persecution my daughter endured from church, society and family members that she came through fifteen years of childhood holding onto her faith regardless of whether her prayers were answered or not.
It took until my daughter was an adult and able to make up her own mind that she began to see the mother that I really was. A mother who loved her and wanted the best for her and her family. Today our bond is strong because of our mission to tell the world the truth about God and love!

M.L.M Training – 9 Proven Actions to Get Your Downline Producing More
“Tim, how do I motivate my M.L.M downline?”I am asked this question frequently. Let’s get clear on what is meant by the question – How do I motivate my M.L.M downline? It means, “What can I do to get them to produce more?” Does anything work?This is one of my favorite subjects because it’s so misunderstood. Historically people have tried the most asinine things in an attempt to “motivate” human beings. Slavery and threatening of life, rallies and hype-driven events, even people running across hot coals. The US Navy has done many different experiments to try to get men to produce more. They’ve tested whether men who go out drinking together produce more. They’ve put men who hated each other together and men who were best friends together to see which would produce more. None of these have worked…for very long. People can come out of a Tony Robbins event super excited and “motivated.” But after a day or two – maybe even a week – they’re back to their previous production level.I might as well go ahead and let the cat out of the bag because he’s practically ripping the bag open at this point. YOU CAN’T MOTIVATE YOUR M.L.M DOWNLINE! But you can get them to produce more. Which is what you really want FOR them and FROM them anyway. To get your downline to DO more, to get them to exhibit confidence, cheerfulness, and discipline requires you to do two things…GET THEM EFFECTIVE AT WHAT THEY DO with good M.L.M training and make it in their interest to do it. The US Navy concluded that when production was high, more production occurred. Effective M.L.M training is the only thing that truly worksSo for you – trying to get your downline to produce more – or produce anything – you must train them. You might be saying, “But I train my people every Saturday! I give them a training manual. I do conference calls.” I realize you may have been working very hard at training your downline. But, the test of effective M.L.M training is not whether you conduct training. It’s whether the student can do it! NOTHING ELSE.List of what to train your downlineHere’s how and what I recommend you train your downline on. – How to establish goals – How and what to know to be effective (most of which is on this list) – How to promote – What to say to people when they make phone calls – How to set appointments – How to present the M.L.M business or products – How to sell the M.L.M business or products – How to sponsor people (the correct procedures and sequence) – How to train new distributorsTo get your downline to produce and produce more, you need to get them effective in each one of these areas. When they can do each of these things, they will be motivated because they are effective. They WILL produce because they feel ABLE to produce. Bomb squad trained meI did not just come up with this M.L.M success system overnight. I worked it up and down until it worked. I got the concept from something I learned in the bomb squad. Before my network marketing career, I was in the US Navy Underwater Bomb Squad. Only one man is allowed to go work on a live bomb. No sense in blowing two bomb-techs up because of one man’s mistake! When we headed down to work on the bomb, we took a piece of plexiglass and a grease pencil. When we were getting ready to do the first step of defusing the bomb we would: a) Write what we were going to do. b) Do the item. c) Check it off as being done. Then go to step two. Write it down, do it, then check it off. The reason we did this exact sequence is because if the bomb blew up, the other bomb squad techs knew that very valuable information was written on that piece of plexiglass. When they retrieved the plexiglass they would see that item 1 and 2 were okay to do. But item 3 upset the bomb – don’t do that step! The items written on that Plexiglas became our “Standard Operating Procedures.” Obviously leaving out that last step that upset the bomb! It was our sequence of defusing that bomb when we faced it again. I applied the same principles to network marketing and the above list of activities. These activities are the only activities that make money in network marketing. Be a great coachAs a coach, if you have your distributor keep a record of how many times he/she does each activity you can coach the exact item that THAT distributor is having a problem with. If you don’t use this list and try to coach – you’re coaching on what you think the group needs. Or you’re coaching a “pet” category of your own. I’ve observed closely new distributors. They don’t “engage” into the business until they feel confident in what to say to their prospects. Therefore, they need to know how to do items 1-5 before you have them on the phone. See, it doesn’t make sense to know how to do New Distributor Training before they know how to set appointments. I’ve known lots of distributors who’ve quit that still know the compensation plan. I know plenty of failed distributors who know how to train a new distributor who have never sponsored anyone. I don’t know a lot of distributors who have quit who can set appointments and have the prospect show up. My point is, to really have M.L.M success you need to first train your distributors to be able to invite, and then train them how to present, and then train them how to train. Other items important in getting your downline to produce: 1. Ethical behavior. People will not follow (or produce for) someone who is unethical or dishonest.2. Boldness. People will follow boldness because they like following in the footsteps of a bold leader. What does it take to be bold? You must be productive yourself. Let your MLM downline see you face your fears. Let them see you make phone calls, let them see you do presentations, let them see you standing there waiting for your guests.3. Be interested in them. Show your people that you are interested in their goals. Put your front line’s goals on your refrigerator. Talk to them about their goals. This is where the “make it in their interest to do it” comes in.4. Be the source of information. Always be up-to-date on the latest information. This means you stay connected to the company’s source of information. Also, teach your downline where your sources are – otherwise you will always be stuck with the job.I think you can tell that I don’t agree with the philosophy of “leaders are found not made.” Train your M.L.M distributors to be effective and they will be self-motivated. This is very different from you trying to “pump them up,” which doesn’t work.

MLM Training: Secrets to Getting Over the Fear of Talking to Strangers
If you’re scared of public speaking, cold calling, or talking to strangers, then read on. Diffusing live explosives can produce some enormous fears. But fear is not welcome while working on anything that blows up. It distracts one terribly. When I was in the U.S. Navy Underwater Bomb Squad I was fortunate to have a Master Blaster by the name of Master Chief Hufty teach me how to overcome fear. Little did I know the number of times I would recall this lesson, nor did he realize he helped me become a better public speaker and an MLM success story. I would like to share this valuable lesson of how to overcome fear with you. Master Chief Hufty was probably the smallest physical man I ever met. He stood about 4’3 and weighed around 95 pounds. Yet he is the largest man I’ve ever met. In the military when one achieves something praiseworthy he/she receives “medals” to be worn at formal events. In non-formal situations he/she substitutes ribbons for metals. The ribbons go above the left shirt pocket and each ribbon is approximately one-half inch high and one inch long. Master Chief Hufty had so many rows of ribbons they actually went over his shoulder and started down his back. He was the most decorated soldier I’d ever seen! To be educated by him was a true honor.One afternoon we were working on a bomb and I freaked out…I’d rather not detail that portion of the story. But, Master Chief Hufty disassembled fear for me. He broke it down into digestible and visible parts so that I could “see” it and define each section and thus, control it. Since fear is a major problem for many MLM distributors, your MLM training needs to include how to overcome fear. When we (you and me) encounter unpleasant or alarming conditions our mind becomes a stage of conflicting voices. Some would define this as the Fight or Flight theory. Parts of us want to fight whatever we fear, and other parts of us want to run (flight) from what we fear. Master Chief Hufty called it “mind chatter.” Fear, especially sudden fear can cause the best in us to freeze. What is “freeze?” Freeze is stuck between fight and flight. If you neither fight nor flight you’re wasting your only asset – TIME.To gain control of my thoughts again, Master Chief Hufty told me to repeat this sentence over and over, “First I do this, and then I do this, and then I do this.” By repeating this, I could slowly walk myself out of the “mind lock” by directing 100% of my attention to what I needed to do next. Worst-case scenario for a bomb squad technician is obviously death. Dwelling on harmful outcomes only leads to that reality. Yikes!Now let’s take a look at the fear of public speaking and how this relates to your MLM business. As a network marketer this could take the form of conference calls or MLM training and opportunity meetings. The fear is that you will look or sound stupid. What are the chances of delivering an intelligent presentation while mentally forecasting stupidity? Very low. So what is the solution to fear of public speaking?1. Be prepared. Know what you’re going to say. Never “wing-it.” Before diffusing my first live bomb, I spent copious hours studying the anatomy of explosives. I furthered the learning process by role playing for days with dummy bombs. In our platoon we lived by the phrase, “The more you bleed in training the less you bleed in combat.” Bravery and success come from confidence in one’s own ability, not from placing oneself at risk. The same principle applies to MLM prospecting and public speaking. Study your materials, prepare your notes, role play what you will say into a tape recorder. When you stand up in front of people just think – “First I’ll say this, then I’ll say this.”2. Don’t focus your attention on you. Focus your attention on your audience. If you’re scared, you’re thinking of you instead of your audience. Put 100% of your attention on your audience and what they most need to hear from you. Rarely does a speaker sound “stupid” if they’re focused on helping their audience.You must earn the right to being a great public speaker. There are no natural public speakers. It takes practice, persistence and more practice to truly master the art of public speaking. If you will take the time to think through each step and learn how to bypass the mind chatter, you can improve your abilities to present a great conference call, conduct an electrifying MLM training seminar or host a successful opportunity meeting.

MLM Training: How to Generate Your Own Qualified Prospects with 10 Proven Newspaper Ads
Prospects are basically the foundation of any business as they are the “potential” customers to the business. So just how do YOU find good MLM prospects? Let’s start out with a definition of the word promote which is the most important word in finding prospects for your MLM business. The word promote means: to make known. I was recently helping a person in my downline with her MLM business, which was not growing. As I asked various questions I finally found the “nasty bug” that was stopping her network marketing business from moving forward. She didn’t want to come off as being or sounding salesy. This stopped her from promoting. How does everyone else promote?A politician promotes how he or she can make a whole community’s life better – so he or she is making herself known to the public by promoting and making known to as many people as possible what he or she can do for them. If you’ve noticed, politicians promote on TV, radio, signs stuck in the grass or on telephone poles along a busy street or maybe speaking at various group meetings. A college promotes what courses it offers. It might promote on radio, might promote to high schools or through sporting events. A stockbroker promotes that he can help his or her prospect make money. A local restaurant will promote via radio, or mailing brochures or discount coupons. The worst thing you can ever do in your MLM business career is to think, ponder, worry or even get the idea that it’s unprofessional to promote! You really need to know and understand promotion. The only way you can have prospects, therefore customers or distributors – is to promote. The only way for you to make money in network marketing is to promote. You can write down your dreams and goals and study them every night. But you’re as effective as a billboard in the middle of the desert. No one knows you exist until you make yourself known. So if you ever find yourself where your business isn’t growing or you don’t have enough prospects, enough customers, or enough distributors – what do you do? Promote! Why do you promote?The reason you promote is to create desire for your product. If you don’t create a desire for your product, it’s very difficult to achieve MLM success. How would you know that someone desires your product or business? Well certainly if you sent a post card and someone called the number – that’s someone showing desire in your MLM business or product. Even if a person called and asks, “How much is this?” – it would still be someone showing desire, or at least slight interest. If you called a friend and asked them to look at something and they said, “Send it to me.” That’s showing a desire. People sometimes refer to desire as “responses,” as in, someone responded to my promotion.Different types of promotionSo now let’s talk about different types of promotion that create desire. You could promote your MLM business in:* The Help Wanted, the Sales & Marketing or the Business Opportunity sections of a newspaper * Advertising section of magazines * Direct mail, such as sending out post cards to everyone in your zip code* Door hangers * Email, banner ads on the internet* Networking. I’m sure you could have guessed that I would name that one. But you would be surprised at how many people when mentioning all the ways to promote, miss that one. In fact, if you use traditional promotion with the mindset of just finding a network of people to work – you will fare far better than most who only measure their responses with how many people respond to their advertisement. You can turn one response from a promotion into thousands if you properly network.One other place to find prospects for your MLM business is to promote to MLM leads you purchase from a lead company. The advantage of this is you’re only paying for those who’ve responded and you’re not paying for all the people who didn’t respond. If I send out 10,000 post cards and get 20 responses then I paid for 9,980 post cards that didn’t get a response. The advantage of writing your own ads of course is being able to target your specific audience with your specific network marketing product or opportunity message. Which is VERY important and should not be underestimated. In contrast, when you buy generic MLM leads, you’re buying general ads – perhaps people who’ve responded to wanting a home based business. The other down side to buying leads is that very often, lead companies resell their leads to more than just you – so you’ve got extra competition to deal with.Three broad ways to promoteNow, it probably sounded like I just contradicted myself; I didn’t. I just saved you years of running in circles trying to figure the advantages and the disadvantages to generating your own leads or buying leads. This is the game. You must promote. There are three broad ways to promote. 1. Networking – which costs the least. You’re going to have costs of meals with prospects, costs of joining clubs and associations. So I have rock climbing club fees, I have mountain climbing association fees, horseback riding fees, mountain biking fees…these are like $50 to $100 dollars a year. 2. Buying leads is more expensive than networking and less expensive than generating your own…but has some advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes you get some hot leads and sometimes you swear you’re calling a graveyard.3. Generating your own. Most expensive, but has the advantages of targeting your prospects. Fax resume to:Be “in” businessThe bottom line is you must be using at least one of these three methods to achieve MLM success. If you’re not, you’re not in business – you’re out of business. What you should be doing, if you see the big picture and want the very big income is you need to be doing all three. All the time. Ideally you start out by networking, which will create enough money to buy MLM leads, and then you’ll generate enough money from the leads you purchased to generate your own leads. My point is, as soon as you start making any money in your MLM business, reinvest it in promotion.One other thought. Don’t measure your success by just your immediate responses. Any marketer who is of any value knows that how you measure return on promotion investment is based on the “life of the customer.” NOT immediate return. Get one leader from a MONTH or 6 MONTHS of promotion and it can pay you for the rest of your life. People often ask me, “How much money did you make your first year in network marketing?” I tell them, “I don’t know, I’m still earning it.”

MLM Training: How to Help Your MLM Downline Get Over the Fear of Calling Prospects
Call reluctance is a term used in sales and network marketing to mean that the salesperson or the network marketer hesitates or procrastinates making calls to prospects. So to help a person get past this we need to figure out what caused this “reluctance.”As I commonly do, I’ll define the main word – which is reluctance. It means: unwillingness; offering resistance; opposing.A network marketer knows he/she should make calls in order to build his/her MLM business but is unwilling to, or is resistant to, or is opposed to making the calls. So instead of making calls they bury themselves in a guilt ridden corner and mentally beat themselves up. Sound familiar? So just what might cause a person to be unwilling to make calls?I’ve written a list of items that “cause” a person to be unwilling, resistant or opposed to making the calls. This will be a good check list to help a person in your MLM downline find out why they’re not having success in their network marketing business. And, if you’d like a nice jolt of reality, hand this list to someone in your downline and ask them to check and make sure you do all these things.1. Has she decided exactly what she wants to achieve with her MLM business? Ask her what it is.2. Has she written a plan of how to achieve it? Ask her if you can see it.3. Is she working that plan? Ask her to show you where she currently is on the plan.4. Does she know all the “parts” that make up building her MLM business?a. Does she have an MLM lead source? Ask her to show it to you.b. Does she know how to get customers? Ask her to get one while you watch.c. Does she know how to service customers? Ask her to show you how she does it.d. Does she know how to get distributors? Ask her to show you how she gets one.e. Does she know how to train distributors to get customers? Ask her to train one while you watch, or introduce someone to you who she has trained that can get customers. Ask that person to demonstrate getting a customer.f. Does she know how to train distributors to get distributors? Ask her to train one while you watch, or introduce someone to you who she has trained that can get distributors. Ask that person to demonstrate how they get a distributor.WHATEVER SHE CAN’T SHOW YOU IS THE REASON FOR CALL RELUCTANCE. “Afraid of rejection” is garbage. Anyone who says that that is their reason, you can easily call their bluff by setting a tape recorder on a table and ask, “Invite me to come to your business meeting.” They can’t do it. Why? It’s not fear of rejection…tape recorders don’t reject you.AFRAID OF REJECTION, OUT OF COMFORT ZONE, CALL RELUCTANCE, AND ANY OTHER FANCY PHRASE A PERSON CAN COME UP WITH IS ONLY A MASK TO COVER UP WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO. I don’t care if the person has been in sales for 20 years. If they won’t do it, it’s because they don’t know how.Fear, fear of rejection, and/or call reluctance is the same animal – not being able to predict an outcome. That’s the basis of all fear. The person just simply can’t predict what will happen if they do something. If you go bungee jumping – it’s the inability to predict the outcome that causes fear. If you defuse bombs (my past profession) – it’s the inability to predict the outcome that causes fear. I’ve seen this surface from some very unlikely people. There was a person who had seen a fair amount of success but was not able to reap the rewards from one of her MLM business legs. The compensation plan required her to have 12 on her front line to earn on the depth of the organization. When she first came into the MLM business she had a friend with her and her friend saw the business at the same time. Her friend built a big network marketing business under her. So she had one very large organization. But she could only earn on one level deep. When she had 12 on her front line she could earn 6 levels deep of the whole organization. But she couldn’t get the other 11 people. Everyone in the company (not just her downline) looked up to her because she had such a large MLM business. But she couldn’t earn money on all the volume until she got those 11 people on her front line. She talked to me about it. She said she wasn’t making the calls because of “call reluctance.” I didn’t buy her excuse.Don’t you buy your MLM downline’s excuses – run them through the check sheet above and train them on whatever they can’t do.Don’t you buy your own excuses – get trained with proper and proven MLM training.

Air – More Than Just A Necessity
No one really thinks about the versatility and usefulness of air until it is really needed. The lack of air can kill; polluted air can cause illness. This necessity of life is free – who could put a price tag on air? However, as technology advances, there are newer and better ways to get cleaner and healthier air. Surprisingly, air is a mixture of mainly two other gases that if breathed alone would kill a human, namely nitrogen and oxygen.
Nitrogen makes up roughly 78% of Earth’s atmosphere. This inert, odorless and tasteless gas is the building blocks of most living beings on the planet. Nitrogen is also a non-metallic gas than is found in amino acids. In addition, nitrogen displaces oxygen. Therefore, asphyxiation and death follow those that breath in too much nitrogen.
Oxygen makes up roughly another 21% of Earth’s atmosphere. In commonality, nitrogen ranks second on the planet and a whopping third in the universe. Through a process called photosynthesis, oxygen is released by flora. Oxygen can actually prove deadly if breathed in its purest form proving that too much of what’s good for us is not always for the best.
Anyone who is a student or a fan of Greek mythology has heard the legend of Icarus. King Minos imprisoned this young man with his father, Daedalus, on the isle of Crete. Daedalus made plans for escape not via the water since the water was patrolled frequently by King Minos’ watchful guard, but instead, made plans to escape via air. Daedalus fashioned two pair of feather wings: one for himself and one for his son. When the time came to escape, Daedalus warned his son not to fly to low because the dampness would clog the wings and flying too high would melt the glue. Upon telling his son to stay close while in the air, they departed their prison. However, the young Icarus did not heed his father’s advice. Icarus flew too high and met with an untimely end. Of course, Icarus has been the subject of many legends and fables that are still in our society today.
This love of mastering the air around us via flight has not stopped since Icarus. In England, George Cayley first flew through the air in his manned glider – the year was 1853. The first highly documented and recorded flight was the Wright Brothers on December 17, 1903. They were not the first, and they would be far from the last.
Our love of adventure and our love of flight has taken us higher than even Icarus could have imagined. Man has been to the moon and sent unmanned space craft to explore distant planets where he could not survive alone due to the lack of air.
It is clear that air has an alluring aspect that draws us to it like a moth to a flame. No doubt that were Icarus alive today, he would be impressed by our accomplishments. I bet Icarus would also warn us that flying to close to the sun has consequences.
MLM Training – How to Get Your Downline To Successfully Duplicate
Several months ago I conducted a survey to find out what network marketers really wanted to learn, and what MLM training topics would be helpful to them. I discovered an overwhelming number wanted to learn more about successful duplication within their network marketing organization. Some specific questions were asked and I am answering them here.Q. What is the most important thing that a good MLM leader should duplicate within his or her network marketing organization?A: A successful action. I know that sounds funny but that really is what it comes down to. You’ve got to duplicate something that is doable and simple so that it doesn’t require an enormous amount of training at each level within your MLM system. That’s not to undermine training, but if what you’re trying to duplicate is so complicated that you can’t get very ordinary, average people to do it – if it requires you to have just completely brilliant people – then you’re going to be limited. What ever it is that you’re duplicating…let’s just say that it’s a script for making outbound phone calls but this script has got a lot of words in it that the person delivering the script has a hard time with. Not only that, but the person receiving it has a hard time with those words. That’s not going to duplicate easily within your MLM business. So that’s the first thing – make sure that you’re duplicating something that is simple to learn and grasp. Q: In your own network marketing organization that you built how did you figure out what to do and what to duplicate?A: While building my MLM business, I learned that the first thing to do is to build a prototype that actually works. When I define the word “work” I mean that you as an individual are able to make a customer happy. And once you make that customer happy you’ve got to write it out – write out exactly what you did. Then follow your own written procedures and see if you can recreate that same happy customer in another person.How this worked for me is that I just looked over my product line and what suited me best (my company sold personal care products). I noticed that I was around a whole bunch (being in the Navy) of guys that had bad skin , acne, problem skin. So I first got successful with myself. I had a similar situation with my skin so I used the products and found the best combinations and so forth that got me results. From that I was able to get four other guys that were in my unit to do the same process. I wrote up what it was that I did and then I showed them how simple it was and that they too could help people that they knew and saw that had problem skin. I ended up with this whole group of rough, tough, macho guys out there selling this mud that pulled impurities out of the skin. That was the way that my network marketing organization began to duplicate.Q: Did you find it was easy to teach your MLM downline to do exactly what you had done? A: NO! That’s where you have to perfect your system. You have to continually work on your systems to ensure that those systems are in place and are workable. And then this is the part that can get you – once a person figures out how to get success – the greatest seduction, I believe, in all of life is to always want to continue to DO that, instead of TEACH that. Because it seems easier to do than having the patience to sit back and allow that other person to make the same errors and mistakes that you made. I think that is perhaps the greatest difficulty in leadership. I think that every one of the books that are out there on leadership – that’s the part that I’ve always seen that’s missing. Having the patience to just sit there and watch and observe, and see people in your group make mistakes but not correct them at that particular moment but…to sit back and say, “Alright is this a systematic thing that I need to change? Or is this something specific to this individual that I need to change?” I’ll give you an example for this. There’s a lady in my network marketing organization now, and she has absolutely resisted being a public speaker and speaking in front of more than one or two people at a time. I started off encouraging her to just stand up and do nothing but introduce me. And of course she fought it, and she needed to prepare for it for a week, and things like that. But in the process, I taught her how to teach herself, if you will. In other words, I told her, “Okay, what you need to do is set up a teddy bear or some kind of stuffed animal that you’re communicating to and then talk to it.” So, the next time I’m speaking at one of her events, I’m listening to her introduce me, and I walk into the back of the room and no one can hear her back there. Of course, I’m not going to correct her in that moment so I wait and then I praise her. The rule is that you praise twice and correct once. If you ever get those ratios out of order then you’re going to have basically a “tucked tail.” That’s what they call it in the dog training world. When you’re training a dog, if the tail goes below parallel to the back, you stop training that dog (because he’s starting to feel “whipped”) and you praise the dog. So, in a similar way, you praise twice and correct once with people.With this lady, I waited until it came back around again that she was going to be presenting our team’s MLM business briefing. What I said to her was, “Okay, it does you no good to prepare and plan and train yourself if the people can’t hear you. And so what I want you to do is to read aloud to your children.” She’s got two kids and she had already told me that she reads to them every night. I told her, “What I’d like you to do is put them on the other side of the room; don’t cuddle up in the bed with them. Be on the other side of the room and you read to them.” She tried that and of course she emailed me back and she said, “That was unbelievable! The kids kept saying, ‘We can’t hear you Mom!’” She began to figure out, “Oh, okay. I have to project my voice. That sound has to get to the back of the room. Just because the front of the room hears it, it doesn’t mean that the whole room hears it.” So this is what I’m talking about. That was something that was specific to that person that I had to assess – “Okay, there is something that she needs help with. What specific thing does she need training in?” Then I figured out a way to teach her to do that. Now, she was just on a radio talk show and she’s been requested to come back and be a speaker in this community of events that happens every week. She is becoming that public speaker that she resisted being for so long. And of course, now she ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT. I’ve seen her speak; she’s good. Being a great MLM leader means developing a simple, workable system and then having the patience to teach others – in spite of the discomfort of sitting through their mistakes. It’s not always easy but it can be really profitable for you.

Infoproducts With Resale Rights-Are Profits Guaranteed?
You’ve probably heard this talk about resellinginfoproducts and making huge profits out of the venture. All you have to do isbuy a dozen infoproducts at cheap rates, and ‘cheap’ usually revolves around$50-$200, sometimes more. But that doesn’t matter, the pundits declare, as longas you can sell them at higher rates and keep 100% profits. In short, you’renot buying those infoproducts, rather investing in them; and hence, there’s noharm in spending huge amounts to acquire hot-selling infoproducts. The logicsounds compelling enough for you to search for profitable infoproducts on thenet. But wait, there’s more to come!
There are still others, who warn you not to spend apenny on this, because there are many membership sites which provide theseinfoproducts for free. You, therefore, put a smile on your face, as you browsethrough such portals to find attractive infoproducts for your collection. Unfortunately,your smile turns into a frown, as soon as you realize that most of these itemsare outdated, or that they’re trial versions with a ubiquitous nag screen. Youget something for free alright, but you soon acknowledge that you can’t makemoney with that ‘something.’
Thus, there are two lessons to be learnt from all ofthis. First off, never pay hundreds of dollars to acquire infoproducts with resale rights,because there’s a chance you may lose money not only on the purchases, but alsoon advertising and similar costs, without which no ‘reselling’ is possible.Second, never trust freebies, because most of them are worthless items to bediscarded, and these membership sites do well to discard them into your inbox. Asa result, you not only feel frustrated, but are bombarded with a zillion mails ona daily or weekly basis. All said and done, freebies are a crafty technique toget your email ID, nothing more.
Does that mean there’s no hope? Far from it, onceyou’re aware of the dangers of freebies and their extremes, you can make acareful decision on what to buy, where, and how. Logic dictates that you choosea program that offers profitable infoproducts at cheap prices, neither too highnor totally free of cost. Then make sure these infoproducts have high resalevalue, and in this regard, you’d better choose a niche market, not only due toless competition, but you get to target the appropriate customer; and hencespend very little in advertising. There you have it! These are the two stepsleading to success as an infoproducts reseller, one being the ability to choosethe right program based on price and value, and the other revolving around niche infoproducts.

MLM Training – How to Keep Your Downline Interested, Focused and Productive
This MLM training bulletin is about how you as a leader can add incentives so your network marketing downline will produce more. What I’m going to share with you here DOES NOT REPLACE what you can read in “Nine Proven Actions to Get Your Downline Producing More,” an article that discusses the importance of a well trained MLM distributor. Proven MLM training is the backbone of motivation. Nothing motivates a person more than fully knowing what to say on the phone, how to say it, and having confidence that they can do that. So in conjunction with a well-trained MLM downline, here’s how I recommend you use incentives to grow your network marketing business. Adding incentives can be thought of as games you can play to keep your MLM business fun and in the spirit of play. I’m talking about dynamic, exciting incentives to increase your MLM downline’s enthusiasm, and make them excited and looking forward to doing the business. And in turn, have that enthusiasm translate into products sold and new distributors signed up. This also creates a fun culture around your network marketing organization. As hard as it may be to believe on the surface, it is widely acknowledged that distributor recognition is as effective a motivator as an increase of income. Recognition raises self-esteem. It shows your distributors that you care about them, and you value and appreciate the effort that they put forth. You can’t put a price tag on that. And once they know that you care about them BY YOUR ACTIONS, they will show you something you may not have thought possible. They will give you their best performance ever.What you’re trying to achieve with incentive programs is an increase of performance. The two important factors are: a) What performance to rewardb) What to reward achieversWhat performances to reward in your MLM business:* Any of the 13 activities in Pocket Tracker. (A little booklet I developed to keep track of daily performance) Such as the number of appointments set, number of presentations, the number of retail sales, etc. * Total number of guests at MLM opportunity meetings or on conference calls* New distributors per week/month/quarter* Retail products sold* Training steps completed* Highest volume, highest increase in volume, and highest increase in volume percentage and pin level achievement What to reward achievers:* Two things you should always do for small achievements within your network marketing organization are handwritten thank-you cards and delivered balloons or flowers. Those two things should be a staple in your MLM business.* At every MLM training meeting you do, you should give at least two awards to high achievers. If you do a newsletter be sure to recognize your achievers in the newsletter. Get their picture with their guest(s).* Weekly, whoever had the most guests at the meeting or everyone who had over three guests gets a free dinner.* Professionally done certificates – in a frame ready for hanging on their wall. * Recognition pins are good. * Prospecting leads for high activity. Like whoever has the most number of prospects on the MLM opportunity conference calls gets 20 free leads.* Apparel – such as company shirts or hats.* Convention tickets are a great one. Everyone who sponsors five new distributors in the next two months get a free national convention ticket.* Travel is always a good one – ski trip, beach trip, cruise, family trip.Points that can hurt your program…and your MLM income:* Lack of MLM training – I’ve mentioned this already but it tops the list as being most important.* Reward the achievers immediately at the end of the program period. Don’t wait. * Keep the program simple. If there’s a ton of twists and turns – no one knows what they have to do.* Frequent winners – if the same people in your MLM organization win every time, others get discouraged. Change the program so that it rewards the super achievers as well as others.* Lack of follow up after the program – at the end of the program right after the awards ceremony, pass out a 3×5 card and ask for comments.* Lack of communication – someone has to be driving the incentive program. This means constant communication. Send pictures of the destination if it’s a trip. If it’s a car, send pictures of the car. Keep the incentive in front of them a couple of times per week.* Lack of a good rollout. The means plan the program. Plan the promotion. Plan the award. Let’s say we’re going to do a “School’s Out” Game that ends on June 1st. The winner gets a trip for four people to Disneyland for four days. March, April and May are the performance months. The winner is leaving as soon as school’s out! This gets kids involved as well. We start promoting the program February 15th. Awards ceremony will be at a BBQ outing on June 1st where all family members are invited. At this event we will also announce the next program…”Back to School” Game.As you can see this creates a wonderful unity between everyone within your MLM organization as well as a fun culture.Enjoy your MLM business!

A lot of network marketing professionals ask me what my “trick” is for getting prospects to actually watch a DVD, listen to a CD or review some literature…you know, something that introduces the prospect to your MLM business. So often, these network marketing business materials get passed out, prospects say they’ll review it and then you never hear from them again. My experience is that you’ll get better results in your MLM business if you use the right technique before you even give that prospect a DVD, CD or piece of literature. This technique is called “Closing Your Prospect Into Action.” The “close to action” step is part of a six-step formula I always use whenever I am prospecting for MLM business partners or people who could benefit from my products. The “Inviting Formula” is taught in great detail in a CD set I authored called “Professional Inviter,” but for reference in this article the Inviting Formula is: GreetQualifyInviteHandle any Questions/ObjectionsClose to ActionFollow-up or Follow throughDon’t confuse Close to Action with “closing techniques.” This discussion is exclusively about closing people into action during the conversation when you first introduce your MLM business or product and ask them to take a look. Not, closing someone to buy something or closing someone to sign a distributor agreement. Although similar, that is not what I am discussing here.Pretend…or envision that you call a prospect and greet them with a fun hello and several other niceties – she in turn asks how you’re doing – so there’s a nice exchange between the two of you. You ask how her job is going and she says, “Oh…okay I guess.” You: You don’t sound very enthused about it – is something not right?Her: Well, I’m just tired of the same old grind. Day-in, day-out. I just really thought I’d be in a different place in my life by now.You: I know how you feel. Where did you think you would be by now?Her: Well – I certainly didn’t think I would spend my life working like a dog just trying to cover bills – I didn’t think I would marry the man of my dreams only to have us wave bye to each other every morning and rarely see him – just everything is a struggle; you know what I mean?You: I absolutely know what you mean. Have you thought of doing something else? I want to help you solve this trapped feeling! Deal? Her: Deal! —POINT TWO—You: Alright, I’ll overnight this to you. You will get it tomorrow – Tuesday. You watch it and let’s talk Wednesday about 11 am – does that work for you?Her: That works – thanks!POINT ONE is the Close. What you’re doing in the Close is “concluding” the conversation. Caution! Don’t jump ahead of yourself and give your prospect ALL of the great details about your network marketing company at this point. I’ve only found this distracts MLM prospects and creates objections for them. POINT TWO is the Action part. What you’re doing in the Action is creating agreeable steps to help the prospect get what they’ve stated they need, want or don’t want as it pertains to your network marketing business.Jenny very clearly stated that she didn’t want to “work like a dog.” She wants to spend time with the man of her dreams and she doesn’t like feeling trapped. You smartly gathered this valuable information because you followed the Inviting Formula and very effectively executed the Qualify step. You didn’t prematurely blurt out a solution when she first said her job was, “Oh…okay I guess.” You used her exact words in the Invite and Close to action steps. It was like “magic.”When these steps are executed EXACTLY as I’ve described you will not have or will very rarely have, “I didn’t watch it.” As a result, more prospects will be evaluating your MLM business and if your business is what they’re looking for…well, you’ve just found yourself a new network marketing business partner.
Network Marketing – Understanding Your Target Market

So many upline leaders teach the “shot gun” approach of making your list, getting information to them and seeing who sticks. This is one of the reasons we have a 95% failure rate in this industry.
The bottom line is that any network marketer really needs to learn the basics of target marketing in order to succeed in the business.
Before we go on, it should be stated that there is nothing wrong with mailing out some product CD’s to your warm market. It’s what you want to do, but that’s just your first step. Not your only step. There are smarter ways to build your business..
So the first thing we need to do is define our target market. These are people who are ALREADY actively using or consuming what we are promoting.
The first rule of marketing, is to sell products people want to buy, to the people who want to buy them. You can’t sell a steak to a vegetarian. You can’t market a product to someone who does not have the desire to consume it.
You can’t sell an opportunity to someone who isn’t looking for one, no matter how ‘perfect you think they would be’ or how much money you think they could make.
In our industry, we have two target markets. The first is our potential business partners. This target market consists of one primary group of people – other network marketers, or people who buy products and services related to building a network marketing business.
Network marketers are opportunity buyers, meaning they are actively buying what you sell. They understand the Network Marketing industry so you don’t have to spend time explaining basic concepts and the business model.
They are also experienced enough to know that it takes work and application to build a successful network marketing business.
It is essential to make the distinction between ‘opportunity buyers’ and ‘opportunity seekers’. An opportunity seeker is anyone looking for a quick fix to their current problem – nothing more than someone who filled out a survey and raised their hand to say “I would like to earn extra money”.
There are specific ways of marketing to opportunity seekers but don’t be lulled into thinking that this is your prime market for business partners. Target opportunity buyers for the greatest chance of success.
The second target market consists of our product customers. However, we also need to be laser focused when targetting our product customers.
Let’s use as an example a nutrition based opportunity. Most people would think that their target market consists of people who have health issues. That is true to a point, but we can get, and want to get more specific than that.
How about people who have health concerns, and who actually spend money each month on health products… These people are your TRUE target market. So how do you find people these people?
People who have acid reflux, for example, currently buy prescription medication for it, and are between the ages of 30 and 60. If you have a nutrition product that helps relieve acid reflux, then those are the specific people you want to market to. Not your Uncle Bob.
Just remember the difference between people who simply inquire about your offer, and those who are already spending money on something similar. That is called “target marketing, and it’s the foundation of your marketing efforts.
Clearly identifying your target market is a major step to achieving sucess in any business. Network marketing is no exception.

To be a “professional” means to be: an expert, specialized, qualified, proficient, skilled, trained, practiced and certified. How many of these words describe you and/or your MLM business? In addition to being a PROFESSIONAL, it is equally important to be ELITE. In some ways, being a professional and being elite are the same. But the word “Elite” itself has such an empowering meaning. What do you think of when you hear the word “Elite?” Some words or phrases that come to mind are: special, influential, and the best. Think for a minute of someone you know who is elite. How did they get that way? Were they born elite? Probably not. They had to work at it; they had to set goals and accomplish them. Elite people keep going, even when their job gets tough. Elite individuals have an undying dedication to their cause and nothing distracts them from reaching their goals. If you want to stand out from other people in network marketing, then be elite. And equally important, teach your MLM downline how to be elite. It’s easy not to prepare, not to study, not to practice presenting your MLM business by talking into a tape or video recorder, not use proven and effective MLM training methods. Be different and you will succeed. When your guest replies unfavorably, you may have the tendency to toss your network marketing business aside and conclude to your upline that “you’re not made out for this.” Never do this; it’s the worst thing you could do! It’s true…of course “you’re not made for this.” No one is! No one is made for anything except reproduction. Everything you are today is what you’ve gotten yourself to do. Jump at the opportunity to learn a valuable trade or skill or personality trait. Take every possible opportunity to get more MLM training or to focus on business or personal development. Elite people yearn for knowledge that will make them better. Often people miss the greatest asset of their network marketing business. When network marketing is done right, there is nothing like it! That is, when you do it right, you have the residual income and freedom to choose what you do each day. But more than that, you now possess the knowledge to do it again and again. That’s an added freedom that is very empowering. With total certainty you can go into any new location in life and immediately begin to create something in any category or activity. Being elite is a very profitable quality to have, especially if you have an MLM business. Enjoy the process of learning it.

* If only I had more money
* If only I knew good trainers
* If only I didn’t care of what people think
* If only I had the talent of some people had
* If only I didn’t have to work so hard
* If only I lived in a big city
* If only I wasn’t out of shape
The list can go on and on. Having alibis will be fatal to your success. Listen to your thoughts and what you are saying to yourself. Having alibis’ is a habit that can be broken through constant practice and analysis.
