Cricket Records Depict Immense Talent Of Players

Last Updated: 2011/10/07

Records cease to stand once they are broken by some other similarly talented; less talented or more talented individual who is involved with that game. Talks about making and breaking records have always dominated any kind of sport and cricket is no exception to this. It is only that cricket records differ vastly then all the other records. In other words, each game has its own set of unique records and achievements attained by players. Cricket records like any other record motivate a player to give his best and stamp his authority over a certain discipline. Well which player does not like to make new cricket records or break the old ones? However all of us are aware of the fact that not just anybody can break cricket records, a player needs to be extraordinarily talented to make even an attempt at breaking the world records.

Among the different cricket records, the one record which most players want to achieve during their playing career is that perfect batting average of 100. Even the greatest batsman of the world Don Bradman of Australia failed to achieve that. In the last match of his career, Bradman needed to score just 4 runs to achieve that perfect batting average of 100, but destiny had other plans for him and he could not get that. He was out for a duck and missed that record by a whisker. So this is another reason why many players aim to achieve this cricket record. However this can be quite a difficult task. After all even the best player in the world could not do it. However in the near future we may find that some player has achieved this cricket record, along with some other cricket records.

There are many players who claim that records do not matter at all for them. This seems to be the typical case of ‘Sour Grapes’ and the just because these players can never imagine to achieve that which legends have achieved, they say so. Come on, how many players are there in the cricket world, would not like to have certain cricket records in their names. Given a chance all of them would like to take a shot at aiming to break certain cricket records. Currently Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of scoring the maximum number of centuries in both one day internationals and test matches as well. He also holds the record for scoring the maximum number of runs in one day internationals and he is still actively playing the game. Breaking these cricket records is really a tall task and chances are that fans will have to wait a long time to see someone break these cricket records.

Cricket fans that are more statistically inclined are always on the lookout for source through which they can come to know about the cricket records. Newspapers, cricket magazines, news channels and cricket dedicated websites are the different sources through which one can come to know all that they want about cricket records. One just needs to choose the medium properly to know about the different things associated with the game.

Jewish Holidays

Last Updated: 2011/10/05

Jews, the followers of Judaism, are famous for their ethnic and historic culture. Jews observe a number of holidays, most of which are of religious significance.

Rosh Hashanah, Tzom Gedaliah, Rosh Chodesh Iyar, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shmini Atzeret, Fast of Esther, Purim, Tu B’Shvat, Counting the Omer, Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israel Memorial Day and Israel Independence Day are some of the significant Jewish holidays.

Before knowing more about Jewish Holidays, it is important to understand the concept of ‘Shabbat’, or the weekly Rest Day in Jewish culture. The seventh day of the week is referred to as ‘Shabbath’ which literally means rest. Derived from the anecdote that God created the Universe in six days and rested on the seventh, Shabbat signifies complete rest and no work. As days reserved to be spent in tranquility, with family and loved ones, Shabbat forms the basis for many of the Jewish holidays.

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. As the holiest Torah-mandated holiday, this festival is observed by completely abstaining from work. Celebrated closely after ‘Rosh Hashanah’, the Jewish New Year, Yom Kippur symbolizes regrets for misdeeds of the previous year and a resolution to start afresh, in a clean state of mind.

The concept of Rosh Chodesh, or the New Moon, is very significant to Jewish culture. Symbolizing renewal, this day celebrates the Jewish ability to rise above oblivion and restore its glorious past. Tzom Gedaliah (Fast of Gedaliah) is an annual fast day observed immediately after Rosh Hashanah. The fast is observed to commemorate the assassination of Gedaliah Ben Achikam, the Governor of Israel during the days of Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylonia.

All Jewish holidays and observances begin on the previous evening, except for some fasts. All holidays are marked by special prayers and services. Jewish holidays mostly follow Sabbath-like restrictions, so all normal business, school or secular activities cease about two hours before the sun sets for the previous evening. Certain activities which are forbidden on the Sabbath and Yom Kippur, like cooking and carrying, are permitted on other holidays.

Deeply rooted in their glorious past and religious values, Jewish holidays celebrate Judaism and symbolize the renewal of this culture.

Doing Too Much? You don’t need a break. You need to break the pattern.

Last Updated: 2011/10/03

Are you completely satisfied with your career and life or have you begun to ask “Is this all there is?” or “Why can’t it feel easier? ” Do you ever feel you are doing too much?

From the time I could walk and talk through my early thirties, I perpetuated a pattern I call “O.R.” (Overly Responsible), working 60-80 hour weeks and trying hard to get it all done almost perfectly. I may have been a painful birth for my mother- I swear I came out with a flipchart and marker in one hand and a goal sheet with to-do list in the other. I’ve met plenty of professionals (especially women) who could be in the O.R. club, trying out for the Olympic work-life juggling team and the emotional tug of war competition.

The good news is it’s absolutely possible to shift from O.R. to A.R.; Aligned Responsibility– making choices aligned with one’s true values and authentic personal priorities. My life is extraordinarily different today- I am one of the most fulfilled, non-stressed people I know. (If you want to throw something at me for saying that, I understand. :) ) My coaching clients revamp and reinvent their lifestyles beyond what they once thought possible. You can create the life you deserve.

Breaking the Pattern Breaks are nice for the doing-too-much person, but aromatherapy and a facial won’t create sustainable change. To break the pattern, you must start with increased self-awareness.

What drives us to be O.R.? In my case I was an over-achiever, which probably stemmed from an original wound in childhood of feeling “not good enough” no matter what hill I climbed to win my mother’s love or praise. (In coaching, it’s useful to be informed by the past, but we don’t focus on analyzing past wounds and digging for “Why?” We focus more what you really want moving forward and “How?”)

Too often, our culture promotes a work-driven, always doing way of living. Living on fast-forward, rarely tuning in to what’s going on inside naturally leads to disenchantment. We rationalize this is “as good as it gets” thus acquiesce. (You were not born to settle and suffer.) We attempt to feed our vague soul cravings with shopping, kitchen renovations and working harder to fuel more “success”- yet defined by whom? And at what cost to you? At a workshop for executive women, each yearned for a more meaningful, rewarding life. They also acknowledged that no one was holding a gun to their heads to continue this inertia.

Does any of this sound familiar? So, what’s smart gal (or guy) like you doing in a life like that?

A Powerful Tool How do you shift to a more fulfilling existence? First, hit the pause button. Time flies whether we’re having fun or not. Just asking yourself “Is this how I really want to live?” is a crucial first step. Success and personal fulfillment are things you create, from the inside out. One simple, yet powerful formula is Awareness, Responsibility, Choice. (What I like to call the ARC of coaching.)

1. Practice increasing awareness of “who you are,” core values, what you absolutely want, and what’s actually happening day-to-day. Make time for quiet solitude to invite your inner voice out to play- journaling, walking– anything that helps you to tune in.

Do Tarot Cards Still Have a Place in Our World?

Last Updated: 2011/10/03

In a world increasingly jaded by technology and progress, it’s easy to scoff at people who blindly entrust their lives to a deck of cards. We tell ourselves, we are rational, clear-headed people, so how can randomly shuffled cards spread on the table possibly answer all our life’s questions.

Tarot cards have had a crucial and inseparable influence in mysticism and the occult. They first arrived sometime in fifteenth century Italy, but it was not until late 17th or 18th century that tarot cards began to be used in divination. The tarot cards that we know today have gone through a long and evolution, from the pictures, symbolisms, procedures, purposes, and meanings. It is interesting to note that tarot cards were originally used in a game, with 21 trump cards, four queens, and a fool added to a normal deck, which totals to 78 cards in all. But it is unclear exactly how tarot branched out from a simple mind-diverting game into the fragile business of looking back into past lives, foretelling the future, and answering questions.

Archetypes The highly-respected psychologist Carl Jung has always considered tarot as an alternative psychotherapy. For him, the rich imagery inherent in every tarot card represents archetypes of human personality and situations. Archetypes are basic models or prototypes of people that embody a defined set of characteristics. The Emperor card, for instance, can be thought of as representing the patriarch or the father figure.

Over the years, we piece together various archetypes according to our needs. These archetypes are embedded in our unconscious and thus they can affect our actions and thoughts without our knowing. Consequently, our choices of tarot cards when we pick them out from that “innocent” deck reveal our feelings, attitudes, and even fears towards such figures in our lives. For instance, we may not know it, but we have always shied from responsibilities and commitment in lives whenever there is a father figure looming in the background, etc.

Tarot cards offer an alternative language system through which we can access our Unconscious. Therefore, we do not just randomly pick tarot cards, or blindly entrust our lives to them. Every moment of our lives, we lay ourselves bare with the choices we make, even for something as papery as tarot cards.

The Missing Tarot in the Skeptic’s World Tarot readings then should not be dismissed as just some pretend psychic business exploiting a person’s gullibility. The art of tarot cards is subtle, delicate, yet powerful. It is energized by centuries of symbolism and meaning created, expounded, and developed by people who dared to see beyond. For them, the Arcane that lies on the fringes of human experience holds the secrets we need to survive.

Before we question the legitimacy of tarot cards, we should first look into the person who wants to inquire about himself/herself. Will they see to believe, or believe to see?

Gangsta Rap

Last Updated: 2011/10/03

Rap singers dominate above representatives of other musical styles in number of shootings, fights and wrangling. Illegal past of most rap singers is a common place. They are rumoured to push drugs and sell armour. I believe this reasons the style’s aggressive character and its close relation to a real everyday life. The history of rap’s development, therefore, sees myriad criminal appalling stories.

The most popular altercation in the history of rap is regarded a confrontation between 2PAC and Notorious B. I. G. These rappers are rumoured to invoke a West/East coast war in the USA. The conflict emerged from numerous reports on spouse infidelity of Notorious BIG’s wife, who betrayed him with 2PAC. The reports hit the headlines, which sparked a war between the celebrities.

On September 7, 1996 after the boxing match 2PAC was shot at several times in a drive-by shooting. He was placed on life support until his death six days later, on September 13, 1996, at 4:03 PM PDT at the age of 25. In a year’s time an unknown person drove over to BIG’s car on the street, rolled down his window, drew a 9mm blue-steel pistol and shot numerous rounds into Biggie’s chest. He was immediately rushed to the medical center, but was pronounced dead in half an hour.

In 1999 a highly publicized shooting in Club New York, where P. Diddy was partying with girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and protege Shyne threatened to derail Diddy’s career, the seemingly unstoppable force was acquitted of all charges in a 2001 decision that put then 22-year-old Jamal “Shyne” Barrows behind bars for ten years for his role in the tragic fracas.

The most popular white rapper Eminem was arrested twice in June 2000 on gun charges. The rapper was nabbed by cops for carrying a concealed weapon and assault after fighting with a man he saw kissing his estranged wife Kim outside of a club. He also got popped for brandishing a weapon during a parking lot beef with members of the rival rap outfit Insane Clown Posse was hit last year with probationary sentences in both cases.

Threats over Eminem’s dangerous behaviour were in vain, his guns turned out to be unloaded. It looks like you have to follow certain rule in case you sing rap. Modern rap tendencies force you into a fierce and uncompromised appearance.

There are many businesses that can be developed from home and operated out of your home. The trick is to select one that will be compatible with your home situation, your skill set and a home business that will generate sufficient income to support the lifestyle that you are looking for. We will examine a few of the lifestyle changes that you may want to consider for work at home businesses in this article.

The vast majority of people leave their homes every day to go to an office or some other location to work for the day. They fall into the routine of facing traffic, going to their place of work, chatting with colleagues, lunch with co-workers, coffee breaks and then heading home after work at the same time every day. Their pay check arrives every two weeks and their benefits are included as part of their salary. After 10 years, 15 years even 30 years, this routine has become pretty comfortable and the thought of not going to work is abhorrent.

Unfortunately many companies have laid off thousands of people in the past few years, downsizing, right sizing, mergers, bankruptcies, etc. Whatever the reason more and more people are having their lives disrupted, the comfort zone disappears and they are faced with a significant lifestyle change. This also presents an opportunity as well for these same people to work at home and start their own home business.

There will be adjustments and you may have to work harder than you have ever worked before, as you launch your home based business and build it up to something that not only you can be proud of, but it also generates the income you require for the lifestyle that you want to lead.

The trip to your office may be down the stairs to your home office, coffee breaks are gone and relaxed casual one hour lunches are replaced by fifteen minutes of snatched time, however you do not need to face the traffic every morning and your costs for work are reduced. If you’re the type that needs the interaction with colleagues, you may want to set up regular coffee breaks or meetings every week, however your main focus and challenge is now to operate and build your own business.

Over the years of working for an employer you have acquired many skills that you may have taken for granted. Use these skills now to build your own home business. These skills may include a wide scope, everything from how to build or repair something to organization, presentation, selling, writing, computer related skills and on and on. Dare To Reach Your Goals

Last Updated: 2011/10/01

Are you finding that no matter how hard you try, you are not reaching your goals? Are you ready to enjoy a loving relationship, a successful career, a healthy and trim body, and prosperity?

Then close your eyes and imagine that you are in a beautiful air balloon ready to take off, to have what you want in your life. Now look towards the ground and notice if there are any ropes holding you down, stopping you from being free to fly. In order to move on in your life, it is necessary to cut those ropes–to overcome not your fears of failure but your fears of success.

You may be as surprised as I was when I first discovered the fear of success. It seems illogical to push away the very things we desire. However, my very first client opened my eyes to this fascinating phenomenon. In her counseling session, Betty told me that she desperately wanted her boyfriend to ask her to marry him. I have a favorite saying, “Close your eyes and see clearly”. So I said, “Betty, close your eyes and imagine that your boyfriend is proposing. How do you feel?” Betty replied, “Terrified!” There it was– the first of many of my clues of the insidious fear of success.

John wanted to become president of his company. But he felt scared when he visualized himself in that position. John was unaware that unconsciously he was afraid of the responsibility that comes with that role. The part of John that was afraid was sabotaging him from moving on in his career.

After working with many clients, I am convinced that we are very powerful. I never had to assist people to become successful. All I needed to do was to help them with a unique process I developed, HART: Holistic And Rapid Transformation, to be aware of and overcome their unconscious fears, and then they effortlessly fulfilled their dreams. When I assisted them to cut the ropes that were tying them down, they suddenly met their perfect mate, or were offered the job or promotion they were seeking. For the first time in their lives, they found losing weight to be effortless. They healed their bodies, and allowed themselves to receive the money they needed. They were able to let go of their addictions and take control of their lives.

We are unique, but our problems are not. See if you recognize any of your fears, your blocks to success, so that you can overcome them and experience the exhilaration of flying free in your air balloon.

The “SEVEN FEARS OF SUCCESS” are:

1. Fear of the unknown. “I don’t know what it would be like to be in a loving relationship or successful career.”

2. Fear that success doesn’t fit your self image. “What’s a poor girl from Brooklyn doing in an exclusive social club in California?”

3. Fear that people will not like you if you are successful. “If I’m successful in my career, no man will want me.”

4. Fear that you don’t deserve success. “I feel guilty because I once stole money from my parents.”

5. Fear that success has a scary consequence.”If I get the promotion, I won’t have enough time to spend with my family.”

12-Month Calendar

Last Updated: 2011/09/14

Maintain a 12- month calendar for a happy and fruitful life. Your calendar should contain pictures that are filled with sweet memories of the past. Make your calendar attractive and colorful with all import events in your life. It is an innovative way of life to show that your relationship is important to you. It is a way to have a healthy relationship.

As the month pass by stick the pictures of time spent together. This is what will be done at the end of the month but before that you need to jot out activities that you intend to do together and individually date wise. You should always maintain such calendars as they help you take out time for each other. You can sit with your partner and look into his appointments and work schedule. The free time you can keep to be together and to spend quality time together. But maintaining a calendar needs a lot of care as there is a possibility that your work and timings are such that you do not have time for each other the whole month. In that case you can try to find out more time to spend together in the coming month to compensate for the previous month. Make sure that your calendar has a date and time where you both can be together. The month you do not get enough time to spend together you stick pictures of your wedding or any such photograph that reminds you of special time spent together.

Create a 12 month calendar to plan out your work in a systematic way. Maintaining a calendar not only helps you to be organized but also helps you cope up unexpected situations. If you create a calendar and go according to it you find time for yourself and are never at a chaos when some emergency such as an accident or health problems comes up. Whatever the emergency if you are organized you can handle situations better and escape that torture of a perplexed and confused situation and emotions.

Your calendar should also include your children and friend. You have to give extra time to your children as they require you the most. They are the ones who are dependent on you both and thus need a lot of care and attention. Stick cute photographs of your children on your calendar to help you smile in the most difficult situations. Your friend too require some time of yours. They are the ones who standby you when your family needs help and support. So could include them too in your calendar.

Your life should be a blend of all- work, responsibilities, hobbies, interests, socializing, parties, fun and entertainment. Your yearly calendar should contain all. A calendar cannot be complete without all these factors of your life. One should remember that you do not have to be very rigid about the date and time set on the calendar. At times you have to go against your set calendar. It is only to help you out make your routine work easier. In conclusion at the end of the year you can present the calendar to your loved one as a remembrance of the bygone year and as sweet memories to always cherish.

The history of a lifestyle

Last Updated: 2011/09/14

Historically, it has not been uncommon to find societies that have advocated having a lifestyle with multiple sexual partners. Furthermore both royalty and nobility in many cultures had consorts and concubines. Ancient Rome has been notable (if not infamous) for its enthusiastic acceptance of orgies and alternative sexual practices. However, though contemporary swingers celebrate those ideals, the actual practice of swinging in the 20th century began differently.

According to Terry Gould’s The Lifestyle: A Look at the Erotic Rites of Swingers, swinging began among U.S. Air Force pilots and their wives during World War II. In this small community, the mortality rate among pilots was significantly high. Gould reports that a close bond between pilots arose, with the implication that the husbands would protect and care for all the wives as their own, both emotionally and sexually, if the husbands were away or lost. This historical narrative is debatable, however, since it would have been highly unusual for servicemen’s wives to accompany them on any foreign tours of duty. Other sources point to American Air Force pilots stationed in the California desert as the original participants in modern swinging. Though the exact beginnings are not agreed upon, it is widely assumed that swinging began amongst American military communities in the 1950s.

By the time the Korean War ended, these groups had spread from the bases to the nearby suburbs. The media picked up on them in 1957 and promptly dubbed the phenomenon “wife-swapping.”

It wasn’t until the 1960s in Berkeley, California that the first organization, “Sexual Freedom League”, for swingers was opened. Ultimately, an umbrella organization called the North American Swing Club Association (NASCA) (now NASCA International) was formed to encourage accurate information about swinging lifestyles all across America.

Some subjective scientific research into swinging has been conducted in the USA since the late 1960s. The most recent study, based on an Internet questionnaire addressed to visitors of lifestyle-related sites, found swingers are happier in their relationships than the norm.

60% Of swingers said that swinging improved their relationship and only 1.7% said it made their relationship less happy. Half of those who rated their relationship very happy before becoming swingers maintained it had become even happier.

90% Of those with less happy relationships said swinging improved them. Almost 70% of swingers claimed no problem with controlling jealousy, around a quarter admitted “I have difficulty controlling jealousy when swinging” to be somewhat true but only 6% said this was “Yes, Very Much” true.

Swingers rate themselves happier (59% against 32% very happy) and their lives much more exciting (76% against 54% exciting) than does the rest of the population, by surprisingly large margins.

There was no difference between the responses of men and women, although more males (70%) than females completed the survey.

Law Of Attraction: How Limiting Beliefs Limit Your Life

Last Updated: 2011/09/14

Our beliefs are the foundation of who we are, what we think, what we say, how we act, and ultimately, how the world shows up for us. However, when we have limiting beliefs, we actually limit our life.

Relationships

Limiting beliefs will greatly affect your relationships. It can cause problems if you have any beliefs about what can or cannot, should or should not happen in a relationship. For example: You believe that the person you’re dating should not see an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend because it’s “bad” for the relationship. What you don’t see is that the person you’re with really cares about you. The relationship they maintain with an ex can be for multiple reasons. Are there children involved? Does your significant other pay alimony to their ex? Was the break up mutual? This doesn’t mean that they still love them, it just means that they are having a working relationship for the sake of whatever binds them together. But if your belief is that they’re ‘up to no good’, then you’ll create that for yourself and find things that make it so.

Employment

When you limit your beliefs when it comes to employment, it can be critical to whether you will keep the job or change your career several times. You may find that you are staying with a job you hate because you either think there is nothing out there for you to do or because it is the “right thing to do.” Fear is just another form of belief and can also seriously limit us in our lives. It can keep us from making career changes or from going back to school, taking new classes, etc. It can keep us from doing the things we want to do because we are “security-minded.”

Education

We all place limitations on what we think is appropriate when it comes to education. Let’s say you decided not to go to college right after school or dropped out of college. You’ve been employed with the company that you are with for 10 years. You have been thinking a lot about going back to school to get a degree, but you keep putting it off because you believe you’re “too old.” You won’t “make the grade.” You have “forgotten everything.” Well, maybe you have forgotten some things from when you were in school because you don’t use them. That is normal. It doesn’t make you unintelligent, just normal. But you beliefs keep you from going…which keeps you in the same place you’re in now.

Creativity

Everyone has heard the phrase “think outside the box.” Even Taco Bell uses it in their slogan, sort of (Think Outside the Bun). Most people are so used to routine that they don’t realize that they are limiting themselves in their lives creatively. They think that they are supposed to stay within those lines.

What if you woke up tomorrow and you didn’t get to have that cup of coffee to start your day off? Would your whole day be off? Would you be able to function normally? Physically, you probably wouldn’t, but psychologically you would because it’s outside of your normal daily routine and you most likely believe you’d be off…so you would.

Finding creativity again in your life requires you to change your routine. Do something spontaneous. Don’t follow the set pattern all the time. You will find the creativity pouring back in your life.

By changing the things you believe, you can actually change your reality. Take the time to look at your beliefs and ask yourself, “Why do I believe this?”, then ask, “Does this belief support the things I want in my life?” Most times that answer will be “no”. If it is, then you have the opportunity to change that belief to the things that support your desires, which will lead to greater joy and happiness in your life.
