Materazzi confessed the reason Zidane attacked him
I think almost everybody can remember the incredible end that Zinedine Zidane had at the World Cup which took place this year in Germany, when the soccer player attacked Marcos Materazzi, after being insulted.
This fact caused Materazzi a two-match ban, while Zidane had a penalty of three games and fine.
But Materazzi decided to break the silence and inform about the incident, declaring what exactly he said to the famous player.
Apparently, the main subject was Zinedine’s sister and not his mother as he said. According to Materazzi he was fighting on the field as all the soccer players do tugging Zinedine’s shirt, and this one said “if you want my shirt I will give it to you”, which Materazzi answered: “I prefer your sister”.
Materazzi recognizes is not a nice thing to say but he added that normally the soccer players say worse things than that.
On the other hand, Zidane never expressed what the reason of his reaction was; he only said that it was very personal regarding his mother and sister.
The French soccer player is retired from football; actually it was the last match of his career which did not have a happy ending after all, but his behavior demonstrated how things can get when somebody bothers with his family, even in such an important moment as his withdraw.

McKinnie stays with the Vikings
Not really sure about his future on the team when he came to play with the Vikings in 2002, he just signed a seven-year, $48.5 million deal that includes more than $17 million in guaranteed money.
The former Hurricane had a clouded rookie season with a 98-day holdout, this is why former Vikings owner Red McCombs was lacking of trust regarding the left tackle, but with new ownership and his contract, the future looks bright for the player who was on final year of rookie contract.
The player said that uncertainty was beginning to weigh on him: “It kind of was in your mind because you know it’s your last year and you’re not sure what might happen, you just never know. You don’t want to get injured. Once it’s over and done with, you know where you’re going to be. You don’t have to think about anything else. Just think about football.” McKinnie said.
Bryant McKinnie feels more relief and even spoke about his desire of finishing his career as a Viking as All-Pro guard Randall McDaniel did.
Contrary to McCombs who was perceived as penny-pinching, the new Vikings owner is definitely not afraid to spend money to get the players he believe are the best ones to face the current season as he have spend almost $100 million.
McKinnie said that he would have probably signed for another franchise if McCombs was still in power. “I could tell when Zygi first came here, he had that attitude that he wanted to make this an elite program, it was a whole different personality.” McKinnie said.
Another Vikings defended the permanence of the tackler in the team:
“When you have a good tackle like that, particularly a left tackle, you have to try to keep those guys around, they just don’t grow on trees, and he’s one of the better ones in this league.” Brad Childress said.
“He’s proven his worth, whenever you get a left tackle in this league, a dominant player like that you have to lock him down. It’s good the management noticed it” quarterback Brad Johnson said.
Last season, McKinnie prove his critics wrong and now is considered to be on the verge of becoming a Pro Bowl player.

Monaco – Luxury Yacht Show Fights Global Warming
The world’s leading luxury yacht show in Monaco is to pay for 55 wind turbines in New Zealand – enough to generate power for 45,000 homes – making the event ‘carbon neutral’.
Under the watchful eye of Prince Albert, the yacht show is part of Monaco’s new stance on global warming, and comes shortly after Prince Albert himself travelled to the North Pole in April to highlight the damage he believes global warming is having on the environment.
‘Since Prince Albert came to the throne last year’ comments Henri Boulanger of Monte Carlo travel guide YourMonaco, ‘Monaco has changed her policy from one of the few countries not to sign the Kyoto Protocol to not only signing it but taking a lead in the battle against global warming. Prince Albert has personally taken steps to show how concerned he is, and by setting the example of going to the North Pole has shown the leadership necessary to encourage Monaco companies to become environmentally friendly, and the Monaco Yacht Show is an example of this’.
The Monaco Yacht Show has bult a reputation over the years as the place for the wealthy to view potential purchases, and this year there will be nearly a hundred yachts on display to those able to afford it.
In total 22,000 visitors are expected to attend with over 500 exhibitors from the yachting world exhibiting.
The mix of wealth and Monte Carlo also means that real estate agents in Monaco will be on full alert. In previous years the Monaco Yacht Show has often proved more beneficial for the realtors than the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Monaco Grand Prix attracts tens of thousands of Formula 1 fans annually to the principality at the end of May, but with some Monte Carlo streets closed, showing property in Monaco can be more problematic than during the Yacht Show.
Monte Carlo real estate specialists Tribune Properties say that the more relaxed atmosphere of the Yacht Show allows potential property buyers to view properties.
‘If someone is visiting Monaco for the Yacht Show and has several million Euros available, it’s a pretty safe assumption that those buyers will have a few million for a property too, and a luxury yacht and Monaco Real Estate appeal to the same type of buyer’, claims Roger Munns, Tribune’s Managing Director.
Typical of Monaco Real Estate prices is a two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Seaside Plaza, close to where the Yacht Show is located, at 3,700,000 Euros.
The emergence of the Yacht Show has helped the Monaco economy by drawing the world’s wealthy to the principality for four days in September.
Until recently the Monaco Grand Prix in May and the Monte Carlo Masters tennis the month before have been the two main events of the year which boost the occupancy levels of the hotels in Monaco.
With the Yacht Show in September filling the hotels at premium rates, it has proved to be a welcome addition to the calendar of events for both residents and businesses alike, and the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo will be the scene of many deals being signed over the four days.
This year also saw the first Monaco Flower Show, which it is hoped will also be a tourist magnet in future years.
‘In the past Monaco has had the highlights of the Monaco Grand Prix and the tennis, with consistent numbers of visitors the rest of the year,’ state http://www.yourmonaco.com, ‘but Monaco is becoming much more diverse in what it offers throughout the calendar year. The Yacht Show has been a success, and given a little time the Monaco Flower Show will appeal to a different type of tourist, and might be as popular as the Hampton Court and Chelsea Flower Shows are in the UK. Diversity is the key to sustained tourism, and Monaco is doing it very well.
Despite being the second smallest country in the world, Monaco has attracted many of the world’s top business and entertainment people to live there due to her income tax free status, and with Prince Albert at the helm it seems that the principality is beginning to punch above her weight in world politics as he takes the lead on environmental issues’, conclude YourMonaco.

Monaco Grand Prix
The Monaco Grand Prix ranks among the top sporting events in the world, and for good reason.
The combination of Formula One cars street racing and the influx of celebrities to the playground of Europe make a heady mix for the annual event, and is viewed as part of the social calendar for the world’s top sports stars, actors, models and businessmen.
The circuit takes in Casino Square and passes by the renowned Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, making it one of the most recognisable hotels in the world.
The race started in 1929, organised by Monte Carlo resident and founding president of the Automobile Club de Monaco, Anthony Noghes, and the Grand Prix has made the world’s second smallest country a destination of choice for many.
While Monaco enjoys the attention of the world’s media for one weekend every May, she also attracts many people long term to become residents due to her tax haven status, and residents enjoy a zero rated income tax.
In recent years Monaco has attracted the wealthy for another visit. The annual Monaco Yacht Show in September has the most exclusive yachts in the world moor at the harbour in Fontvieille, and the hotels in Monte Carlo and Monaco are booked full nearly a year in advance.
For both events, the Monaco Grand Prix and the Yacht Show many visitors stay in nearby Nice and travel in, and the hotels in Monaco enjoy full occupancy at premium rates.
Monaco Real Estate
Once a European backwater, Prince Rainier turned Monaco into one of Europe’s best known locations, combining glamour with an income tax free policy that has attracted millionaires and billionaires to the principality for the last forty years.
Real estate prices reflect the prestige and tax advantages of living in Monaco. One local Monaco estate agency report that currently they have a one bedroom apartment, with no sea views, available at 880,000 Euros. And by the time closing costs are taken into account this rises to around a million Euros.
A two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Monte Carlo is available for 1,900,000 Euros.
And a five bedroom four bathroom apartment, recently featured on the BBC’s Money Programme ‘No tax please – we’re rich’, in Fontveille, the same area of Monaco where the Hotel Columbus, part owned by Grand Prix driver David Coulthard, is situated with Mediterranean views is available for ten million Euros.
With demand from clients worldwide the prices of real estate in Monaco is likely to be among the highest in the world for the forseeable future.
Commenting on the local property market, several estate agents have reported good sales for Monte Carlo real estate and for Monaco generally in the first quarter of 2006, with the top end of properties in Monaco doing particularly well compared to the same quarter last year.
And there are rumours among the owners of the hotels in Monaco and Monaco Real Estate industry that two islands could be built with bridges to connect them to Monte Carlo which would allow some 5000 new low rise properties and a hotel to be built.
If the rumours become true of more availability of properties and a new hotel in Monaco the possibility also exists of an extended or changed circuit for the Monaco Grand Prix in years to come.
