Global Positioning System (GPS) is a navigational aid originally developed for the military. The system simply receives signals. It is the applied technology that gives the GPS its versatility.
If you have ever used map and compass, you will understand a little about how the GPS works. In order to find your position on a map, you need to have three points of reference. The intersecting line from the reference points is where you are. Map and compass work uses triangulation (bearings), GPS uses trilateration (distances) to calculate location. Satellites orbiting the earth emit unique signals that can be received by a GPS. The GPS software interprets the signal, identifying the satellite that it came from, where it was located, and the time that it took for the signal to reach the system. Once the receiver has both time and distance it begins to determine position.
Three satellites provide the intersection point and the fourth is used to check that the positioning is accurate. Accuracy depends upon the synchronization of atomic clocks in the satellites with the clock in the GPS system. Although the clock in the GPS is not
atomic, utilizing the fourth satellite gives it that functionality as the internal clock adjusts itself to correct any discrepancy discovered.
GPS has gone far beyond its initial military application. Drivers can find their way through city streets, long distance trekkers use the technology to cross unfamiliar terrain, mariners and pilots use GPS enhanced data to cross the seas and skies.
In–vehicle GPS can be integrated into the car entertainment system or can be installed as a removable device. These systems need to tell the driver where he/she is and how to reach their destination. The information includes road directions plus relevant features along the way such as rest stops, gas stations, points of interest, etc. Auto GPS uses voice commands so that the driver can concentrate on the road.
Hikers and trekkers use similar technology, but normally without the inclusion of road systems on their devices. Mapping software defines the territory that the hiker will encounter. The user can enter waypoints (points of reference) so they can return using the same route. They can add points of interest such as water sources, possible campsites, and other items of interest on their trail. However, the portability demanded by hikers will also limit the functionality of the system as small screens mean that some detail will be lost.
It is GPS technology that is used to track individuals on home arrest, to trace missing pets, stolen vehicles, and missing people. Small systems can be incorporated into pet collars and wristwatches. As long as the receiver is active, it can be found.
Marine and aviation GPS units are sophisticated and specialized. The principles involved are the same as any standard system the software is much more highly developed.
Any fisherman, who is using a fish finder on his boat, is using a GPS that is enhanced by sonar and tracking devices. Units have been developed for use on float tubes also -– as GPS technology advances, the systems become more and more compact and their uses
more and more extensive.
If you are considering purchasing a GPS, make sure that it can be updated easily. This is especially true if you buy a multi–function GPS or one that is used where conditions change regularly. An in–vehicle GPS soon loses its usefulness if it is not updated as road systems change.
Updates vary according to the device being used. They can come in CD/DVD packages or as computer downloads. The user can purchase maps specific to the area in which the GPS will be used or a range of maps and routes. These are available from GPS software
companies who will charge proportionally to the sophistication of the software.
GPS units vary in price according to their usefulness. It is possible to buy units for less than one hundred dollars to units costing more than one thousand dollars. What your needs are
will be a factor in the cost of your unit. If you are a backpacker then portability is a major consideration. If you are a trucker, you need to be able to find a delivery point as quickly and conveniently as possible. Whatever device you go for, cost is generally related to quality. Buy the best you can afford.

Website Writing, How To Master The Art And Science Of Writing
Website writing must take in the entire scope of your site. You have to consider ease of navigation and take in all aspects of the design of your site. Intricately weave text and format into the page.
As the website writer you must set aside time to think deeply about what you see. Do not just gloss over the site. Drill down deep and consider yourself a website visitor. These two components must capture your visitor.
Good Informative Content
It sounds so difficult to write good informative content. As a web writer you must make it happen! Web surfers are your customers. As a web site content writer the best way to stay in business is to provide something of value to your customers. On the Internet, that something is appealing, well-designed information.
Let’s look at an off-line writing example, the
catalogue. Most businesses have them in one form or another. If you compare the structure of a detailed catalogue to web writing, you’ll discover a few things that are the key to success.
Catalogues grow to be hundreds of pages.
Cross-referencing from one page to another is frequent. On the web we use hyperlinks. Changes made to one section often impact another section. If you write “see pg. 279 for more information,” there better be more information on page 279!
It’s even more so with a web site. More pages will be added as time goes by. Certain pages will link to others, and they must be easy for your readers to find.
Lets say you wrote on a web site about soccer, the beautiful game.
Soccer players, rules of the game, equipment… everything will be about soccer! Now it’s time to create new pages about famous soccer stadiums. Don’t forget to update your Index Page or Site Map with easy to follow links.
Effortless Navigation
Within the structure of your existing web pages, add good purposeful in-text links. This will fulfill your readers and the search engines in a big way.
Your web site is made up of text, links, and images. Your readers will not see your pages as isolated features. They will not notice your content first and then go on to check out your site design and pictures.
Your visitors will instantly be impacted by your complete site. It is up to you to make it an enjoyable visit. Consider the features, the stunning design, and the well planned linking structure. Keep your website as user-friendly as possible.

The Artistry of Erotic Photography at Home
I am in love with high-quality erotic photography, particularly female nudes. There’s something about the graceful curve of a woman’s breast, hip, or even shoulder that creamily blends together the carnal act of sex itself with the deeper, more profound emotions of making love. Being able to capture this delicious mixture on film (or in today’s world in pixels!) is to me one of the best uses for photography.
But my love of erotic photography doesn’t stop at mere admiration. I also enjoy producing it, in private and at home. One of the things I enjoy most is showing my husband the results of my little adventures into the lens. Watching him admire the pictures makes me feel sexy and desired. Instead of surfing the web to see “hot” pictures of meaningless, random women, all he has to do is open a file on our computer with the knowledge that those pictures were made just for him.
So, why am I telling you all this? Because I want to open you up to the possibility of doing the same for your lover. With a little creativity anyone can make beautiful photos at home. And while it’s an incredibly rewarding experience to have your lover be the photographer, it is possible to do it all by yourself. All you need is;
* a camera (preferably digital)
* a full-length mirror
* some editing software. I use Google’s Picasa because it’s free and has some neat features to play around with during editing.
First, I decide which body part I want to focus on capturing. Then I imagine what the end result might look like (it never comes out exactly as I imagined, but I can get it pretty close). Next, I put on (or take off as the case may be) whatever I need to enhance the picture. Sometimes it’s dark makeup or a particular piece of lingerie. Once I look the part, I set myself in front of the mirror and play around with the angles.
What looks good? What enhances and what detracts? How is the lighting, is it all behind or in front? Where are the shadows? If the lighting doesn’t work well in one spot I take the mirror and move to another part of the house. When I am happy with that, I make sure the background is not too cluttered. I try to position myself against a blank wall if possible…but remember as you get more creative you might want to have certain props or textures behind you. This can get as complicated as you like!
Here is the really tricky part. After positioning myself in the mirror exactly as I desire, I face the camera towards me so that I can see the preview screen on the back of the camera reflected in the mirror. Most digital cameras have a preview screen. This way I can see just what the camera will be taking a picture of. It eliminates most of the guess work. Once I am content with what I see in the preview screen, I take the picture. Rarely does the first picture come out as I expected…so I make any necessary adjustments and try again, and again, and again. Eventually I get a series of pictures that I think will work once I put them through the editing process.
Now for some fun, editing! This is my favorite part of the process because I can take a good picture and make it great. Using the editing software, I play around with lighting, tinting, color, focus, cropping, and such until I end up with a high-quality (looking!) photo that I am proud of.
Viola, I now have my own erotic pictures that I can use to surprise the pants off my lover! If I enjoy this process so much, I’m sure that making your own collection will be just as rewarding.
How To Be Smarter
The term half-wit may actually be more true than we realize. And it also may be more common than we care to admit.
There isn’t really a term for thinking with all of your brain, so we’ll call it whole brain thinking.
Whole brain thinking is not only top to bottom thinking but also left to right thinking.
Evolution has created three brains, and they built themselves one on top of the other.
The first brain is the Reptilian Brain. It emerges directly from the spinal column. It controls basic instincts and responses. Those who are good at video games or racing cars where reflexive, fast-action thinking is important have this early brain well developed.
The second brain is the Limbic System. It is also called the Mammalian Brain. This includes the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. It controls emotions, sexuality, and pleasure. People who are ruled by strong feelings stimulate this brain quite often.
The third brain is the Neo-Cortex. This is the new brain, the “thinking brain,” the one we use to figure out what things mean. When someone is described as intelligent, it is a reference to this brain. This is the brain that goes to school.
At first blush, it may seem that all we need to do to develop more intelligence is to just focus on the most recently evolved brain. But this is not entirely true. The limbic system, for example, once aroused can improve learning, too, because emotional arousal activates more mental powers than normally used.
Now looking at the Neo-Cortex, we see two that it splits into two brains, with a tissue in between, the corpus callosum, that acts as a type of type of communication bridge.
The left brain is what is most developed in Western Cultures, especially through the process of education. It specializes in serial, sequential thought. It is logical and likes step by step reasoning. When you appeal to someone to be rational, it is an appeal made to this part of the brain.
Someone who is considered well-spoken and has a good vocabulary, shows mathematical ability, argues in a logical way, and likes things to be organized and sequential is using the left brain.
The right brain is what is most developed in cultures that are considered more artistic. The right brain grasps things all at once. It sees whole patterns. It synthesizes. People who are right-brained are able to see patterns, enjoy spatial reasoning, and show a talent for music. They are imaginative. They like to visualize new possibilities. The next time you see someone humming a tune, they are in rhapsody with their right brain.
The way to be smarter is to develop more of your brain both vertically and horizontally.
By developing your reflexive responses, your emotional range, your sensitivity to pleasurable stimulation, and your ability to figure things out, you are developing your brain vertically. You can also develop it horizontally by doing more of the things you are not very good at doing. If you have a scientific view of the world, you should develop your artistic side; and if you have an artistic leaning, then develop the skills of sequential reasoning. You will instinctively know what to develop by working on what you are weakest in. It’s not that those parts do not exist for you; they are just dormant through lack of exercise.
Previously, it was believed that intelligence is fixed and that it deteriorates with age. This is simply not true. These ideas evolved during the times when neuroscience was not as sophisticated as it is today. Today we know that a well-used brain gets smarter as time unfolds.
The way to be smarter is to work on providing an enriched environment for your brain. Besides exposing yourself to more interesting and challenging things, this also includes improving your physical health, diet, and attitude.
It takes a lot of effort to develop a really fit and healthy body. It actually takes less effort to develop a really sharp brain because the brain, unlike a muscle, can work longer and harder.
Is it worth the effort? After all, why bother to be smart when most people are content with just coasting by with what they know, indulging in mundane conversations and engaging in mindless television programs for hours on end?
Here is why it is worth it:
Life becomes increasingly more interesting because you actually start to experience more of it. You literally let more of your experiences come alive for you. You not only have more experiences, both literal and vicarious, but you also enjoy more vivid ones, experiencing more aspects of any situation.
Also, in a world that is becoming increasingly more complex, with information exploding at a rapid rate and technology and social interaction becoming more sophisticated, learning how to learn and pushing yourself to understand more of the amazing world around you might just make your life a whole lot better.
The future depends not on people who understand a few things but by those who are fascinated by the rich diversity inherent in any experience.
Self-Publishing Book Production & Marketing Mistakes to Avoid
Once your book is written and you’ve determined that you will be self-publishing, there are a few serious errors you are going to want to steer clear of.
THINKING YOU DON’T NEED AN EDITOR
Even the best writer needs a second pair of impartial, well-trained eyes to look over their work before sending it out into the wide, wide world. The reason being that as the author, we are too close to our work to see it objectively. Are there any holes in your points or arguments? Are the introduction and conclusion as strong as they could be?
Editors provide feedback, sharpen the focus, and turn an already strong piece of writing into a stellar piece of writing. While you might have a great story to tell or have incredible information to share with the world, you also might struggle with getting the words out of your head. Or, perhaps you’re talented at outlining your overall concepts, but you need some help fleshing out the ideas, or finessing the language to make it as clear and compelling as possible. These issues are nothing to be ashamed of – but they are signs that you will definitely benefit from working with a qualified editor.
Think about it. Michael Jordan once was asked how he became the best basketball player in the world. Did he chalk it all up to raw talent? His answer might surprise some folks: “I had great coaches.” Likewise, great writers have good editors behind them. A good editor can make all the difference between a book that should be used as fireplace kindling and the next viral marketing success like “Unleashing the Ideavirus.” (No disrespect to Seth Godin – I’m sure he’s a brilliant writer whose work needs very little editing.)
DESIGNING YOUR OWN COVER – OR HAVING A FRIEND DESIGN IT FOR YOU
A lot of first-time self-published authors, in an attempt to conserve money, forego the investment in a graphic designer with book cover expertise. This is a HUGE mistake.
According to selfpublishingresources website, three-fourths of 300 booksellers surveyed (half from independent bookstores and half from chains) identified the look and design of the book cover as the most important component of the entire book. All agreed that the jacket is the prime real estate for promoting a book.
Although not all books are sold in bookstores, at least 50 percent still are. But before your book even makes it onto the bookstore shelf, retailers and reviewers will see it, and make their determinations about your magnum opus based on just a few seconds’ glance at the cover. And in the bookstore, a shopper will spend an average of just 8 seconds looking at the front cover and 14 seconds on the back cover. This is a total of less than a half-minute to decide if your book is even worth flipping through! If you do not have a professional image that is congruent with your contents, you will very often miss the sale.
A professionally designed cover will:
* ENHANCE the salability of your book. Does your cover make a person want to pick up the book and buy it? Will booksellers be proud to display it in their stores?
* INCORPORATE the book’s theme. Does the cover design effectively convey your voice and style? Does it entice and appeal to your target audience?
* EMPLOY creativity and originality. Is the design a unique expression of you, your theme, and your contents? Is it aesthetically pleasing and tasteful?
There are no two ways around it. If you want your book to sell, you must spend the money on a professional designer for the cover and interior layout of your book.
BELIEVING THE BOOK WILL SELL ITSELF
Many writers finish their books. For most, though, that is the end of the line. Few ever actually see their work in print. One of the main reasons for this has to do with marketing. Of all the mistaken beliefs held by new nonfiction authors, the most difficult one for most writers to grasp is an understanding of the time/money/energy commitment involved in marketing, a book.
Many writers envision themselves as creative geniuses who believe they should be left alone to write while someone else handles the marketing and promotion. In the sphere of traditional publishing, some publishers may provide significant marketing support, but that is mostly a thing of yesteryear. Today, most publishers offer very little in the way of marketing assistance; virtually every publishing house – from the smaller, little-known shops to the behemoths of great repute – leaves it to the author to promote his or her own book.
If an author is unable to provide any marketing support and cannot clearly define the market for their book, publishers are unlikely to be interested at all. This should be a red flag to those pursuing the self-publishing option. Know your audience and shatter that ubiquitous box, in terms of your creative marketing concepts. Who will read your book and where can you find them? These are the questions you need to keep at the forefront of your mind, even as you write the book, print it, and design your Web site.
There are hundreds of humor writers, columnists, and experts in myriad fields who could write books. What differentiates them is not their writing talents, as much as their ability – or inability – to sell their books. As we have by now determined, publishing is a business, and publishers will always go with the books they anticipate to be the biggest sellers. You must keep this same attitude and vision, even if you decide to self-publish. If you lose sight of creating a book that will actually sell, you may find yourself in an uphill battle once it’s done. The last thing you want is to take out a business loan to get your books produced, only to have 30 cases of them stacked in your garage for the next 10 years.
Be ready and willing to market yourself and your book. Become a media darling. Look for opportunities to appear on local, regional, and national radio and TV. Yes, this means you, even if you are shy! Take an acting class or join Toastmasters if you have a fear of speaking in public. You are going to sell this book – no one else is. That means you must be as available and open as possible. If someone from the media calls to invite you for an interview, drop everything else and get to that interview. Spread the word about your new title on the Web. Send preview copies to select reviewers and/or celebrities or personalities with long reach. You went through all the other steps to get here. Believe in yourself, your book, and your market – and be fearless in promoting it to the world.

Real Estate Article Marketing; Ka ching! Ka ching!
Real Estate Articles are a great way of promoting your products and services. In many instances it can be accomplished at relativly little cost, and is a proven method of boosting your sales; doubling and even tripling it in some instances.
Here’s how it works!
Write articles relating to your website and submit them to “free content” submission sites. It’s easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.
How can this be?
Well, your articles on free content sites contain links to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit.
Having them on the free content sites also makes them available to other webmasters who may wish to publish your articles on their sites. If they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.
As the list of your published articles grows, and more and more of them are appearing on different websites, the total number of links to your site increases, too!
Major search engines are placing a lot of significance on incoming links to websites to determine the importance of the sites.
The more incoming links your website has, the more importance search engines will attach to it. This will then increase your website’s placement in the search results.
If you promote listings and other real estate services the links that your articles achieve will mean more potential customers for you. Even if visitors only browse through, you never know when they might be in need of what you are offering in the future.
There are also those who already have specific things they need on their mind but cannot decide yet between the many choices online. Chances are, they may stumble upon one of your articles, get interested by the content you wrote, go to your site and became enticed by your promotions. See how easy that is?
Search engines do not just index the websites, they also index published articles. They also index any article that is written about your website’s topic. So, once someone searches for that same topic, the list of results will have your site or may even show the articles that you have written.
And to think, no effort on your part was used to bring them to your site. Just your published articles and the search engines.
It is no wonder why many webmasters are suddenly reviving their old writing styles and taking time to write more articles about their sites than other means of promotion.
Getting their site known is easier if they have articles increasing their links and traffic and making it accessible for visitors searching the internet. Since many people are now taking their buying needs online, having your site on the search engines through your articles is one way of letting them know about you and your business.
The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. This can be achieved in the lightest mood but professional manner, with a little not-so-obvious sales pitch added.
If you think about it, only a few minutes of your time is spent on writing one article and submitting to free content site. In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.
If you think you are wasting your time writing articles, fast forward to the time when you will see them printed and wide-spread on the internet. Not to mention the sudden attention and interest that people are giving your website and your products or services.
Try writing some articles and you will be assured of the sudden surge in site traffic, link popularity and interest. Before you know it you could be doubling and even tripling your earnings.

Write a List – Grab the Cash!
Famous List Makers. Did you happen to read Nick Hornby’s novel, “High Fidelity,” or see the movie by the same name? In the film, John Cusack’s character, record store owner Rob Gordon, is a list-making fiend. He has lists of the Top 5 Episodes of “Cheers,” the Top 5 Pop Songs About Death, the Top 5 Elvis Costello Songs – and even the trite Top 5 Movies. In fact, his list of the Top 5 Worst Breakups is the central plot point for the story.
And unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 20-plus years, you know that David Letterman has immemorialized the Top 10 List. We are a culture that has come to love lists. New Year’s resolution lists. To-do lists. Grocery lists. “What I’m looking for in my next mate” lists. Goal lists. “Honey do” lists.
Can All This Listmania Benefit You?
You bet it can! Let’s start by reexamining that Top 10 List again. Do you have one – or could you make one – about your business? If you’re in the printing industry, how about a list of the top 10 things to consider when pricing a large printing job? Let’s say you’re in the mortgage industry. Could you enumerate the 10 biggest mistakes first-time home buyers often make? A chef could easily pen a list of ways to make a kitchen more useful and efficient. A personal trainer could create a list of exercises to do while traveling. A financial advisor could compile a series of money personality types. A photographer could suggest ways to appear more photogenic. The possibilities are endless.
Still don’t know what to put on your list? Think about the questions you repeatedly hear that relate to your business or industry. Or consider for a moment the questions that make you think to yourself, “I thought everyone knew that!” If you’re in business, you’re an expert, and if you’re an expert, you probably have scads of material for lists.
So why are these lists are important? Because they’re fodder for articles and books and info products.
Why You Need to Start Writing Lists
If you have a list, you have, at the very least, the outline for some demonstration of your expert knowledge. Chances are that if you thought about it, you could take that list, expand on it, and develop enough material for an article or a teleclass. Dig deeply enough into your storehouse of intellectual property, and you likely could further enhance the information to form the chapters of a book, an eBook, a workshop, or some sort of information product.
Whatever business you’re in – you’re actually in two businesses: the business of your product or service, and the business of marketing and selling your product or service. There’s no better way to market and promote yourself than by developing and selling information related to your product or service. Doing so accomplishes two things: (1) it helps promote you as an expert in your field, and (2) it can give you a great passive revenue stream.
List-Writing Exercise
So hurry up – grab a pen or open a new Word document. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Number the paper from 1 to 10. Now, think of a subject around which to build your list. Your subject could be as broad as your industry, or as specific as answers to a particular question related to a niche market within your industry. Choose whichever subject feels appropriate to you, start the timer, and begin writing. Write quickly, fluidly. Do not stop to hesitate or filter. Just put down anything and everything that comes to mind with respect to your subject.
If you get to 10 with little effort, continue writing 10 more list items. Don’t stop until the timer goes off, or you have completely exhausted your list of ideas. And then, just when you think you’ve done all you can do . . . reset the timer for an additional three minutes, and add five more items to your list. Really. Get as creative as you can. Bust that ol’ box wide open! Then, once you’ve really finished your list, be it 10 or 20 or 100 items long, you can start to organize it and shape it into something useful.
Begin by grouping like items together. Chances are – if you really did the exercise without filtering – that you have some repeats and redundancies. The language may be a little different, but the gist of several items is likely the same. Group similar things together, and delete items that are simply repetitions of previous items. Prioritize your list, putting the most important or most-often addressed issues at the top. Slowly, you will pull together a list that truly represents your depth of knowledge and provides a good overview of your product or service. It might be five items long, or it might contain a dozen things. Remember, there’s no right or wrong here – it’s your list!
You Have a List – Now Use It!
Now it’s up to you to do something with your list. Use it as a springboard to some further demonstration of your expert knowledge. Begin with one list . . . or article or eBook . . . and expand to another. Soon you will be able to claim the status of a knowledgeable expert in your field. People will begin to think of you first when it comes to questions about your industry. When they think of you first, they will call you first. And as copywriter extraordinaire Michele PW says, “When you’re the expert, you can charge more!”

During pregnancy a woman’s body suffers many changes. From the conception to birth her body undertakes the processes of fertilization, implantation and growth of the baby or sometimes even babies. The child is growing in her body getting to develop in there for the next nine months after the conception. These 40 weeks of pregnancy may lead to new physical sensations for each woman. It is known that each woman body reacts different to each individual pregnancy whether it is the first, the second, third or more pregnancy.
The first trimester of pregnancy that it is considered to be the first 12 weeks leads to a woman’s body changes. These changes consist of providing a nurturing and protective environment for the baby to grow and develop. Depending on each case these changes can be subtle or can be pretty obvious. Many women do not realize they are pregnant until their menstrual period gets a few weeks overdue. Some of the women just know they are pregnant before missing a period because they feel strange and suspect something is different or in change.
Sometimes the first signs of pregnancy make a woman feel confused. This thing is realized because of the first symptoms in pregnancy that are similar to the pre-menstrual symptoms such as swollen breasts, feeling tired or possible cramping or pelvic discomfort.
There are known cases of women that will not have periods until their baby is partially or fully weaned of the breast, perhaps 6 to 12 months and sometimes even more. Even so it is possible for a woman to be fertile in about 8 weeks after giving birth. So breastfeeding, as a form of contraception tends to be reliable for about 30 % of the women, especially after the child is 3 to 4 months old. A subsequent baby could mean for a mother a very exhausting period and more then that a greater sensitivity for the nipples, especially when the child lathes and suckles at the breasts. These women are also prone to feel nauseated or sick especially in the mornings. Their milk begins to taste more salted then before which may cause a refusal of breastfeeding from the child.
It is a normal fact for women to ask questions about pregnancy. They usually feel unsecure and wonder what is normal during pregnancy. They concern about their health even if they experience the typical pregnancy problems or not. In some cases women do not realize that they are pregnant before a pregnancy test because the changes night not be always so obvious.
How To Recognize and Monetize Your Expertise And Passion!
Most people tend to dismiss what they’re good at. Part of it is that you become so accustomed to having whatever skill you have that you cease to notice it. Sometimes it is out of a sense of false humility. But every single person has innate talents and gifts that enrich people’s lives AND provide a source of income for you.
How can you discover what your true talents are? Let me give you a hint. Where your passion is, you will find many of your natural abilities that you probably take for granted.
But it’s more than passion. It’s profit. Thousands of people have harnessed the unbelievable power of their natural talents to not only enrich others, but literally enrich themselves financially.
Here are some questions to consider. Answer these and you will have the core for a profitable business.
1. Define your ideal client.
2. Who are the people you have been working with if you are already in business? What have you liked or disliked about them? Are there any common denominators?
3. What kinds of people could ideally benefit from your knowledge?
4. If you had all the money in the world, what would you be doing?
5. Interview three people you most respect (friends and family members) and ask them what they see you doing? What are your strengths from their standpoint?
6. What have you always been good at?
7. What did you dream of doing as a child?
8. What needs/values do you care about most?
9. Whom do you admire most?
10. What makes you most fulfilled?
11. What do you love to do the most? What are you passionately against?
12. What have you felt called to do?
13. What legacy do you want to leave for your children and grandchildren? What do you want to be remembered for most?
14. Analyze your competition and find out all about them. This will give you ideas as to your niche and how you can brand yourself.
15. Remember that you want to make sure your target market has money.
Two On-going Exercises
Produce your own personal inventory. This inventory should be focused on the following:
1. What you know: focus on the attitudes, knowledge and skills
2. Experiences you’ve had
3. Training you have had
4. Destinations that you have been to
5. Titles that you have earned
Create a list of several hundred, even thousands, of descriptors. Note: you will have to keep pen and a pad of paper on you at all times as you will realize all the talents you do have!
Now create a list of “What You Are”:
Record a description of yourself. For example, I am a man, father, husband, basketball player, a lover of pizza, wings and Indian food, slightly bald, a resident of Sarnia, have four degrees, play the piano, traveler, speaker, author and creator of the entrepreneurial authoring system etc.
Keep in mind that you want to make sure of two items: 1. the market you are targeting has tremendous wants and desires and 2. the market has money to spend – in other words, it is hungry for your information.
Spend some time journaling for a couple of hours. Let it all hang out. Write as quickly as you can and get in touch with the real you.
Narrow business possibilities to two or three. You can do this by playing the devil’s advocate with each of your ideas. Provide as many reasons as you can why you shouldn’t go with an idea. Now check by completing a focused target market key word analysis on your top two or three ideas.
My best methods of creating a book and building an online business are three fold:
1. analyze the key words that my target market is using to define their problems;
2. analyze my competition to see how they view problems and what solutions they are offering; and
3. talk directly to my target market about their negative perception of people doing similar business to me.
In doing the above, you will gain a much better grasp at the gap(s) that exist in the market place and you will gain a competitive advantage as you seek to fill this gap.
Put these exercises to work for you and enrich your life and your pocketbook.

How To Maturely Deal With Upsetting Experiences
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to keep things organized and running efficiently in your life, unexpected things happen that threaten to completely undermine your sense of well-being.
These upsets can be big or small, ranging from identity theft to losing your car keys. Yet they are enough to make you feel that they completely ruin everything for you. They hit you emotionally like a punch in your stomach, knocking the wind out of you.
I’m not sure why life throws these curves. Is it a product of our own thinking coming to attack us, some type of karmic rebound? Is it random misfortune? Or is it some weird cosmic “test” of our mettle. It is almost impossible to find the cause. Focusing on the cause is one way to become confused and unglued.
However, understanding the cause may not be necessary. Instead, dwell on the solution. This is the mature way to keep your sense of balance when the ground has been pulled from under your feet.
Here are some emergency steps to take:
1. Release the frustration and all the other emotions. Do this immediately. You can do this through deep breathing and imagining letting it go, talking with a friend to get some perspective, or simply taking a long walk until you calm down.
2. Assuming you are now calm, the next step is to regain your control. Here is where you regroup your resources. It may help just to start tidying and organizing things around you, thus restoring your faith that order can be regained. In other words, you will get a sense of order by doing some routine ordering in your environment.
3. Now that you are calm and in control, make a list. Start with a question that asks you what to do about the situation. Then answer that question by making a long list of possible answers. Do this quickly, without thinking too much about it. What you want is to push past your conscious ideas and dig up some original insights. This is why speed is important.
4. Refine that list. Hone in on your best possible choices.
5. Take action. Do what you can. Make things happen. This will make you feel a whole lot better. If it is a theft, file a police report. If it is a financial issue, find ways to get money flowing into your life again. And so on.
Sometimes the situation may be really bizarre, where you have no idea what to make of it. Yet you also find you need some insight before you can take any type of meaningful action. In this case, at step 3, ask your question then leave it blank and go do something else, including taking a long nap. You can even do step 3 just before bedtime. Your subconscious mind will now work on resolving it.
A farther way to deal with this upset is to imagine the opposite. If for example, someone stole your credit card, think about how the bank has restored your balance and sealed off the card from future use and how it is engaged in issuing you a new one.
Doubtlessly, fearful thoughts will start creeping in throughout the day. If you respond to them, they will force you to go on all sorts of nightmarish mental safaris. Do not go there.
Depression, helplessness, emotional outbursts, behavioral acting out is not the solution.
Bad stuff happens to all of us at some time or another. The trick is to grow stronger, not to fall apart. As Nietzsche said, “What does not kill me, makes me stronger.”
There is no point in futile analysis, “why me?” “why now?”
You have to keep reassuring yourself by thinking of a new scene, where you not only envision getting what you lost but even better things are showing up for you.
None of these steps are easy to take, because your natural inclination is just to rant and rave and progressively fall apart. You feel as if there is a huge hole in your chest. However by taking these common sense steps, you get your common sense back. By taking the best action you know how, you can either mitigate the problem or even resolve it in a meaningful way.
Even when really bad stuff happens, know that you are a powerful person and will not let it ruin your life. Focus on what you still have left. Focus on the new way that has opened up for you.
Sometimes out of the worst situation, miracles come out of nowhere. Who you are is greater than the misfortune life may sometimes throw at you. When you cleave to a mature view, you will come out of your upsetting situation and regain your sense of personal power.
The Secret Formula for Creating Best-Selling Titles
With the right title, your book can fly off the bookstore shelves, clog the internet wires and stuff your bank account full. But with the wrong title, it can languish untouched, unpurchased and unfulfilled. To create a best-selling title you must follow these guidelines.
Book buyers are a fickle lot. And while we all agree we can’t tell a book by its cover, we’re equally convinced that we can find out all we need to know by the title.
The title for your book my be precise, exact, even dynamic, but if it doesn’t ignite an emotional flame within the reader, no one will want to open the cover (or press the download button).
While we’re briefly discussing the two species of books, traditional paper and ink and electronically delivered ebook, you should be aware that the importance of the title is imperative to both. So, no matter what the final form will take, your selection of a winning title is essential.
I’ve seen truly outstanding books, that were poorly titled, fail miserably. While mediocre offerings with tremendous titles, gain notoriety, fame and financial success that they really didn’t deserve, based on their content.
Now, that’s not fair. But that’s the way things are. You can argue the fact all you want and frankly I’d agree you were right, but that doesn’t change the reality of the situation: two identical books, with different titles, will have different sales numbers.
Your job is to ensure the title you develop is the title that will do you the most good!
So, let’s get started. The first thing you must do is stop being so emotional about the title of your book. Ever since you began writing it, you had the title in mind. If not the precise wording, then a very close estimate. Week after week you told friends and family about your book, the progress you were making and when they asked you what it was about, the first words out of your mouth were, “Well, it’s called, ‘(whatever title you had decided on)’ and it’s about”
Over time, the title began to sound more and more real to you. It began to take on a life of it’s own, until finally, you reached the point where you couldn’t see it being called anything else. I mean, that title was so obvious, so explanatory, so near and dear to your heart. If I know you, you were the person who came up with it, right?
That’s what I mean by becoming emotional about the title. If someone, anyone, suggested a different title, you’d become defensive, even argumentative.
Stop that!
You want your book to be read by the largest number of people, don’t you. You want your book to be a work that many people are talking about (positively) don’t you? You want that book to be, at least a marginal, profit center for you, don’t you?
Well it ain’t going to happen if you use a title that is less effective than another title.
Let me put you in the proper frame of mind right now. The title you’ve created probably isn’t the best title for your book. In fact, I’ll bet money it isn’t and I’ll be winning just about every time.
So, how do we get the right title for your book? It shouldn’t take long and it shouldn’t cost you a lot of money, either.
On a piece of paper, write down the title you’ve chosen for your book. Now, let your mind wander and write down at least 10 other titles for your book. I don’t care how wacky or crazy they are, just write them down. After about the fifth one, you’ll have run out of wackiness and the titles will actually start to sound good.
Ten or 11, got it? Good!
Now, take the list around to as many friends as you can find. If you don’t have many friends, you can literally approach strangers. Say exactly the same thing to them as you show them the sheet with the title candidates.
“I’ve written a book and now I have to decide on a title. Based solely on the words, which of these books would you most want to buy and read?”
After you’ve asked about 100 people, a clear winner will start to emerge. Certainly you’ll know the top three.
Sorry, your pet title will probably not be among them.
And, no, it doesn’t matter that your book is a technical manual, or a gothic romance, or a guide for redecorating your kitchen. You’re asking these folks to select the title they prefer.
If you give lectures, it becomes really easy. Take the title candidates, show them to the audience on an overhead or a power point frame, and ask the audience the same question. Then count the hands for each title.
Now, if you want to get really good take the top three and create seven new titles. Actually design the new titles with the idea of beating the old champions. Run them all through the old opinion mill again.
A clear winner will emerge. That’s the title you should go with.
Is there a faster way of doing it? Sure but it will cost a few dollars. Go to Google.com, set up an adwords account and place the 10 titles into 10 ads that you will rotate equally. Don’t worry, Google Ad Words will show you how to do this. You’ll have your answer in just a few days, a week tops.

Article Writing, Free And Easy Ways To Get Higher Website Rank
Article writing will still be the favorite choice of Internet Marketers in the years ahead. We have to come to grips with site design though. It is sad when you see website designers perfecting their craft without even giving a single thought to bringing traffic to the site.
A successful website does not become a success on the back of web design alone. What would that brilliant piece of web designing workmanship be without traffic? Who would be able to benefit from that brilliance?
Article writing saves on expenses and time. Does article writing surface as your preferred method of promoting your internet business? Surely it has no equal when considered from the same cost and time perspective. Lets look at article writing from a different angle.
Each article that you write for your website should contain a link within it to your money making web page. Moreover, you also need links that the search engine spiders will need to crawl in order to reach the other pages of your website.
The spiders will follow links from page to page. They take this accumulated information gathered from your webpages and hand it over to the indexers. If the search engines find that the information on all of your webpages dovetails nicely and they are similar; you should move higher up in page rank.
Higher page rank leads to more traffic. Remember too, if your article theme also dovetails with your website theme your page rank will receive an added boost. This is another double whammy effect of using articles to generate website traffic. You can easily win on both fronts.
Write your articles around keyword phrases. Strategically place those phrases throughout the article for optimization. They will then gain excellent rank in the search engines. Once you gain that rank, your articles become stand alone traffic generators that cost you absolutely nothing.
Consider this, your article contains information or content. The search engines love content. Your content is zeroed in on keyword phrases. These phrases link up perfectly with the searchers query. Once a match is found for your keyword phrase the search engines are all over your article.
This is free traffic. Lets back up a bit. Not only is this free traffic, it is free targeted traffic. Why do I say targeted? Simply because the person who typed in the keyword phrase is searching for something in your specific website topic arena. This in no way guarantees you a sale. But it does significantly increase the likely hood of one.
Underpinning your total article goal should always be customer satisfaction. An uncomplicated almost docile navigation through the information is a vital cog in the wheel of customer satisfaction. Pilot your reader through to the area you wish them to go.
You do this by simply putting yourself in the place of your reader. Hunt diligently for writing roadblocks. Remove them to ensure a smooth transition for your reader once a decision has been made.

Five Secrets of Writing With a Partner
Writing your book with a partner, or several partners, could be dream come true. It can dramatically reduce the time it takes to write the book, it can give you motivation, and it can allow you to focus on what you do best, but if you don’t do it right, you can destroy the project, destroy friendships and destroy an other wise excellent idea.
Here are the ways to make it work effortlessly for everyone involved.
To begin with, have a blue print of exactly what will be in the book. Not just the information and the ideas, but the chapter the chapter by chapter progress of the story (if it is a novel) or the presentation of information (if it is non-fiction).
In fact, this might be the very first thing you and your partners do when you decide to collaborate on a book.
Determine what will be in it, where the story will go, what information will be presented, and when. The more work you book into the book at this stage, the less work and frustration you’ll find later on.
While we’re on the topic of partners, you want to work with people who are familiar to you. You’ll know in advance that some people are very aggressive in their work patterns, while others are more, well, lazy. It helps everyone if you can avoid those who will constantly be tardy with their work. Creating a book is difficult enough without having to hound one or two individuals about getting their work done.
Once you’ve got the blue print of the book sketched out, and you know who will be partnering with you, it’s time to decide who will write which chapters. With a non-fiction book, the ideal is to have each create the chapter that reflects their specialty. You really don’t want them writing about something they know nothing about.
With a novel, it’s a little less imperative. As long as everyone knows what the story will be about, and what will happen in the end, all that a partner has to do is know what will happen in his or her chapter (or series of chapters) and where they have to end up, so the story can continue with the next writer.
Make sure you impose strict deadlines for every writer (including yourself). There are no exceptions. The creation of the first chapter from each partner must be sent to you by a specific date. This way you’ll know exactly when the book will be finished.
By the way, make sure everyone agrees to these deadlines and signs their name to an agreement saying they’ll do it. If they fail to meet the deadlines, they’ll simply be dropped from the team and their contribution to the book will not be recognized.
Once all the chapters are written, hey presto, you’ve got a book. And it will be a book higher in quality than you would have imagined. And it will be finished far faster than you ever thought possible as well. Next step, the editor.
Your book, even though written by several, must read like it was written by one author. And an editor can usually take care of that. If you’re doing it yourself, then make some rules for your writers right from the beginning: No sentence longer than 11 words, no paragraph longer than seven lines, write in the past tense always.
If you’re writing a novel, provide information about the characters to everyone. The protagonist is blond, 40, muscular, but walks with a limp because of an injured left leg. That sort of thing.
With a little help from your friends, your book can be created in record time!
Writing Abilities Development
It has been proved that writing abilities can be developed together with inspiration. A thought that gets impregnated into an author’s mind is given birth and raised by the author in the form of a literature. Literature is a form of human expression, which is expressed or visible in every moment of life. Also, author’s mind is like an interpreter, which translates the ideas and concepts into written form or literature, with the aid of ‘aides’.
An author keeps all his/ her senses in a sentient state and plays a sentinel, to create scenes and sentences, with a correct dose of sensibilities, sentiment and also sensationalism. Most times an author writes about what he sees, feels and lives. So, he is the spy not with the gun but with the pen. The brain accepts data from eye, ear and nose, and innovates and creates data in a new form, and orders the hand and fingers to do its job. The author can’t live secluded; he has to be in the centre of action or even in an overseeing position to Record and write the happenings. In the book, the happenings could be the exact replica but also it could be entirely different, with different views, different sentences, different scenes etc& And the author can make the reader reflect and relate with the characters and the happenings in the book and that is, the true Success of the book. So the author has to experience a lot, to express it through the books. To be successful in authorship, one need to do the job of ‘spying’, that is observing the world around us, but if the author’s job itself is spying for a country’s security or intelligence agency, his success will be enhanced.
That is, if he/she leads or led a double life of a writer as well as a spy, it will compliment both the works. As, work of a writer includes observing people and needing a rich source of outside information and experience, the spy life will surely aid in these quarters.
Article Writing, Relevant Content Rules In Todays World
Article writing without a doubt, remains the best free formula for attracting website traffic. In recent times though, site design has left a lot to be desired. Many website designers are insular in their planning. They fail to consider traffic pulling components of website design.
At the end of the day, websites enjoy success because of a collaborative effort. Without traffic, who would be drawn to this dazzling web wizardry? For all intents and purposes it would still be a great site. But it would be a great site doing its dance in a dark corner of the World Wide Web.
Google has recently changed its posture. It has moved from a defensive position to an offensive position. The key word is value. What value does your website offer the World Wide Web?
Does your site exist solely for adsense bucks? Do you use a template and throw those sites up? Then you smile all the way to the bank? Are your websites purely for adsense loot? Because other than that they are useless, just a webpage chuck full of adsense adverts.
The internet is inundated daily with people doing online searches. Polls conducted recently revealed that demand for information over the internet has increased dramatically.
In the past, you could request specific information from the search engines and be led to a webpage loaded with adsense ads. The content would have absolutely nothing to do with the information you specifically requested. You wonder why the search engine bought up that page in its results. It was a meaningless webpage.
Google has begun a program that has wiped out some of the profits of these adsense sites. The program works like this. Lets say you typed the word glasses into the search engine. It could be something that you use to drink water out of. It could also be something that you put on your face to help you to see.
The glasses file will be housed in an area where content should give you some indication of what that file is about. Surrounding text would always reveal its true meaning. For instance the webpage might say that you will find the shape of glasses depends almost entirely on the shape of the persons face. That is a dead giveaway.
With adsense, the page was not giving information on the shape of someones face, the page dealt in generalities. The searcher received no helpful information at all. With this program by Google though, adsense has been weeded out. The people who have websites solely for adsense bucks will soon be out in the cold. Relevant content rules.
Customer satisfaction was at the root of Googles decision to start this program. It also has to be at the front and center of any writing that you do. Map out a direction that you would like you reader to follow. How? By understanding and knowing your reader. Ease your reader gently through the door that leads to a positive decision.

Parlay Your Typing Skills into Cash
If you took typing in your younger days, youll discover that this is a talent you can now use if you need a way to start a home-based business. Although most people are more keyed into the technological advances of the computer age, there is still a need for someone who can prove that they can type fast and accurately.
Re-entering typing is a lot like riding a bike when you haven’t done so for a dozen years — you may be a bit shaky at first, but once you start peddling, the long-forgotten abilities will quickly return. In order to get work however, youll need to have some idea of your typing speed. You can do this online by taking a test and seeing your scores. What’s nice about this is that you can take the test, then practice typing and the retake the test until you bring your typing speed up to what it used to be.
Once you identify your typing speed, you are able to set yourself up as a freelance typist in a work-at-home business. You can use your typing speed to set yourself apart from other freelance typists especially if you have a high accuracy rate at your re-acquired speed! Faster typists have the opportunity to earn more because they are able to get through more work in a day than one who types slower can. An accurate typist is more likely to get recurring work and so build up a regular customer sheet so if you work on your skills and can promote yourself as a fast accurate typist, you will improve your chances of finding customers for your business.
If you can add transcription services to your resume, and can budget the funds to acquire transcription equipment (such as foot pedals for transcribing digital files, and a desk unit and pedals for tape transcription), you will improve your earning power significantly. Many professionals in the legal and medical field outsource their transcription work to home businesses just like the one you are considering!
Despite the fact that typing may seem an outdated skill, youll be surprised how you can turn this into a viable business with relatively little effort and investment!
Article Marketing, Improve Your Ranking With Links
Article Marketing, without a doubt remains the best free formula for attracting website traffic. At times though, site design leaves a lot to be desired. Many website designers have been negligent in their comprehensive design strategies.
It is impossible for one area of a successful website to claim total glory for the success of that particular site. For what would that brilliant piece of web designing workmanship be without traffic? It would still be brilliant. It would still be on the web. But without traffic no one would be able to observe that brilliance.
An astronomical number of searches for info are performed online everyday. Polls conducted recently revealed that demand for information over the internet has increased dramatically. Last months tally of online searchers averaged a whopping 72% of American adults, and there is no let up in sight.
They are looking for information on websites. Their tools of choice are search engines and links. Search engine use is steadily climbing. A massive 85% of American adults are using them to hunt down information online. Their numbers total a staggering 100 million. What share of this traffic do you get to your website?
Article writing saves a ton of time and money. When it comes to promoting your online business do you use article writing? Surely it has no equal when considered from a cost and time perspective. The result of article submission is traffic and lots of it.
Lets look at what you have done so far. Your fantastic site is on the web. It is being fed optimized hot off the press content. The search engines have been duly informed of your presence. To top things off you have an ezine in the pipeline. This website is cracking!
Oddly enough your work of art sadly languishes deep within the shadows of Google ranking; punching in at a dismal 124. As a matter of fact you are not only in the shadows, you are in the dark. No one will find you thirteen pages deep. Everything has been done correct up to this point. Why is it that this site is not ranking higher?
In your quest to unearth the reasons for your expensive website doing so poorly you turn first to linking. Is the problem that no one is linked to your page? I am not talking about a link from any old site either. I mean a link from a site of substance. A site with great search engine ranking. How can you get those high ranking sites to give you a link?
Do a search of the web for a site that is comparable to yours. Introduce yourself via email to the webmaster of your chosen site. Request a link. Generally webmasters do not mind a link exchange. Hopefully, at the end of the exercise you will get a link. You may have to crawl before you can walk though; but at this point any link will do.
Slowly but surely work your way up to the higher ranking sites. The Google sites that rank high will benefit you. Google will notice you if you have links to these high ranking sites. You have to be careful though. Some webmasters are fussy. Especially if they feel that a link to your site will not do anything for them. That is when you may have to bargain.
For instance, lets say you write great articles. Even if you do not, you can buy them. Include a link in the article to the site that you desire to link to. Obviously the article would touch on their website theme. The webmaster requests three articles.
Put the three articles on your website. Each will contain a link to the site that you desire a link from. You can even allow the webmaster to reprint the articles on his website. Great content for him. Include your authors link in the articles. Remember though, you are the one who needs the link, not the webmaster. They have the rank. Get the three articles. It will be a small price to pay.

Home Remedies And Treatments For Dog Arthritis
As part of your regular pet health exam, today we focus on the muscles and bones that help your dog move. Starting at the neck, run your hand along the spine to the base of the tail. Feel the muscles on both sides of the spine and notice if any feel unusually firm or knotted.
Dogs can get a variety of conditions that will lead to muscle spasms in their back muscles.
Massage any tight muscles and take note of the area. A common condition in active dogs is to develop fusing of the spine (spondylosis). This can lead to decreased mobility, pinched vertebrae and back pain. Your dog will benefit from regular massage of the lower lumbar spinal muscles. Place your hands on either side of the spine and use deep circular digital pressure with your thumbs. Work on the affected area once daily for 5 minutes.
Next, palpate the bones and muscles of the legs. Start on the legs at the toes. Apply moderate pressure to the joints and move each joint back and forth. On the front legs pay close attention to any discomfort in the elbow or shoulder; these are common areas of dog arthritis. In the rear limbs, pay close attention to the knee and the hips for these are commonly arthritic. Your dog will resist moving these joints and may even yelp if your dog has arthritis.
HERBAL. A variety of herbs are used at different times for dog arthritis. The ones I have seen to be most effective include: DEVIL’S CLAW, used in traditional African medicine and has scientific studies to back its effectiveness, give 100mg or 10 drops per 10 lbs of body weight.
ACUPRESSURE. GB 41, located on the bottom of the foot, in the depression of the two outside toes, and is especially good for arthritic pain in the hips.
METHYLSULFONYMETHANE. MSM is a supplement, found in some plants such as Horsetail. It works by reducing inflammation in the joints by acting as an antioxidant – this has been shown to work well in treating dog arthritis. The MSM dosage is 50mg per 10lbs of body weight daily.
IT’S IN THE CARTILAGE. GLUCOSAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE is the most important supplement to add to your dog’s diet. The dose is 1/4 of a 500mg tablet once daily per 10 lbs of body weight. It helps to rebuild the cartilage and delay further cartilage breakdown.
The treatments I’ve just covered may be all that you need for now, but if you would like additional dog arthritis remedies, get my book today – I offer 15 different alternatives to dog arthritis alone. And along with arthritis, I guarantee that you will use many of the (over) one thousand at-home remedies in my book.
I use them every day in practice. They work.
No side effects.

How A Writing Circle Can Help Get You Published
Your writing circle can be your key to publishing your book with a commercial publisher. In fact, it can open up all the doors you could ever want in the publishing world.
Here’s how you do it. A writing circle is a group of like-minded authors who seek camaraderie among peers. They want to know what others think of what they’ve put down on paper. Usually the writing circle is geographically confined to your neighborhood or town. Sometimes it’s restricted by profession–just teachers, or just lawyers. Sometimes it’s all that and further restricted by genre–just romance or just thrillers.
The internet has allowed many writing circles to flourish around the world. There’s a lot of flexibility there.
The ones currently up and running are usually posted on library bulletin boards. Or you can search the internet for one more to your liking. If there’s nothing in your area, feel free to start one yourself. In fact, if you can start one yourself, so much the better.
Would these writers like to know what’s hot in their respective markets? Of course they would. You volunteer to get that information for them.
Call, (don’t write, don’t email or mail, but call) those people who have the information your writing circle members would like to have. Call a trade editor at a publishing house and tell her the Lower Missawani Writing Circle will be having a meeting in a couple of weeks and they’ve asked you to briefly tell them what kind of books the publisher is looking for.
Or call a few literary agents. “The Lower Missawani Writing Circle will be having a meeting in a couple of weeks and they’ve asked me to find out what’s the biggest problem literary agents have with new writers?”
You’re not selling them anything. You’re not badgering them about a manuscript that was sent in unsolicited. You’re just looking for a few quick answers to some common questions.
Depending on the geography, and the size of your writing circle, you can invite them to speak to your group. And you’ll be taking care of all the arrangements and acting as host for your guest.
If you meet a publishing contact at a convention or other book meeting, this is your way to start a conversation. You’re not there simply saying, “I have a manuscript and.” You’re saying you gather information for your writing circle and you were wondering if you could give them a call in a few days to ask them a couple of questions that would be useful to many writers in the group.
When you get the information (however you get it), send them a thank you note. And send them a thank you note on behalf of you and the writing circle every month from that point on. You’ll be asking them additional questions as time goes on and you want them to remember you.
In fact, you want to establish a relationship, a friendship of sorts, with these people. Then, when your manuscript is ready, you can call the right people immediately. They’ll call you back because they know you. They know you’re not some sort of nut. And they know you’re committed to their success as well as the success of other writers. All things being equal, people would rather do business with their friends. All things being unequal, people would still rather do business with their friends.
And your writing circle has allowed you to make quite a few!
Seo Copywriting for High Search Engine Rankings
Content is the key – written on every wall of the SEO forums. But what does it all mean! What is content and what is SEO content! How can you use content for website promotion or high search engine rankings!
Why content is said to be the KEY!
Web crawlers or spiders are the means by which the search engines find out what your website is about. These crawlers read the text on a webpage, and index every word in the search engines database. So there you have it, in the simplest context, if you serve content based pages to these crawlers, the higher the possibility in them understanding what your site is actually about.
Why, after serving good content is my site is not ranking well in the search engine result pages!
All the major search engines have their own algorithms to justify the relevancy and trustworthiness of a webpage in respect to specific search terms. And this determines high search engine rankings of your websites.
Now, here comes seo copywriting. It is commonly defined as writing search engine friendly content in your website, giving proper positioning and emphasis on specific keywords or phrases.
Although seo copywriting is not the only criteria for high search engine rankings but it is undoubtedly one of the primary conditions. An expert would say here that ‘every little bit counts’.
SEO web content writing suggestions (not rules):
1) Targeting up to three key phrases per page
Include two to three keyphrases per page. If your keyphrases are similar or are variations of a primary keyphrase this should enable to you effectively write content as you have plenty to “play with”.
2) At least 300 words per page
You will find a lot of image based websites doing just fine, even without content. The reason may be that they have high level of off page support. In other cases at least 300 words of content is recommended to establish your point and maintain keyword density and proper search engine optimisation.
3) Using key phrases in headings and sub headings and H1 tags
Major search engines like Google, put a lot of emphasis on this to determine the subject of the topics in your site. Using relevant key phrases will take you a step further in search engine optimisation.
4) Using key phrases at least twice inside a paragraph (targeting the beginning and / or the end is better)
It is necessary and simply establishes the relevance of the heading and subheadings as well as helping maintain keyword density.
5) Break key phrases and use them inside the paragraph – in such cases, try to put the pieces, in an order similar to the original phrase.
It’s a tested and fruitful idea. However restrain yourself from overdoing it or it may not be reader friendly.
6) Using key phrases for anchor text or links
This is recommended to gain maximum value for the directed page.
7) Update update update.
Keep your pages updated and start writing a blog on the same subject your site relates to. Use all the other trial and error processes and find out what works for your site.
Lastly, don’t forget to put the same kind of emphasis on the other off page website promotion such as link building, affiliate marketing etc. It really is in incorporating a holistic approach to your website promotion that you gain your search engine rankings and untap your websites full potential.
